You getting these emails from your companies too about Epsilon getting hacked into & getting email addresses?

I think I'm up to about 6 companies now and seem to be getting a new email each day from another.

Just don't click links in any emails you get. I try not to anyway.

I have received this as well. I am currently watching a story on CNN about it; be very careful with your emails and what you open as a lot of phishing scams will be circulating as a result of this.

I opened this thread to see if it was worthy of a thumbs down.

Got it. I saw part of the story on the news.

I was avoiding opening my email today, but I finally did. I was hoping I didn't get any more notices today too! ;)

I received emails about Epsilon from Disney, Barclay, Best Buy and Chase. Seems to have been a pretty big breach.

It is not the emails from the various companies notifying you of the breach that are the problem, it is the potential spam messages that will probably come as a result that you don't want to open.

How does this happen? A few months back I got an email from American Honda about the same thing. Epsilon is a major company managing email accounts from many companies. Makes you wonder where their security is.

I have received one or two notices each day for the last week. I never click links within emails unless it is something I requested and I certainly wouldn't do it with the situation that is going on right now.

I could easily see a fishing scam producing a similar looking email; some people have received so many of these emails the last week they probably wouldn't even think twice about it being legitimate or not.

So far, I've only received alerts from Disney Destinations and Best Buy. I haven't received one spam email yet, though. *fingers crossed*

If its a notification email and its asking them to log in to their account, I hope they think twice. :)

Increase my 6 to a 7. Just got one from Marriott.

Chase, Barcley, Target, BestBuy, Charter Communications, Marriot, Brookstone

I've gotten 5 now

Disney Destinations, Target, Chase, HSN and Viking River Cruises

I have gotten four so far but have not received one from Chase or CitiBank and I have accounts with both of them :confused3

I received one from citicard via email and I think I found out about chase one when I logged onto chase website to check a credit card balance but I might have gotten email too.
