Epilepsy and the world

Hi gang!

Just wondering if anyone has a list of the rides that feature strobe light activity of any sorts. I have epilepsy and have only been to the world once, but what like to have a heads up if at all possible.

Contrary to what many people think, there are actually no attractions with strobe (i.e. Bright, rhythmically flashing repeating lights) at WDW. They are pretty careful to avoid things of that type in attractions.

If you look in post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, you will find a section about epilepsy at WDW. You can either find the thread near the top of this board or there is a link in my signature that will take you there.

I have a problem with strobes and epilepsy also. Most rides do not include strobes or any pulsating type lights at Disney.

I also avoid 3D movies, movies at individual countries in Epcot because of the large screens, rides including heights, and anything that has the word "mountain" in it. These can become disorienting for me - but each person is different.

If I've had a doubt in the past (some CMs don't really understand the problem) I send my daughter to ride it first. She gives the nod of approval if she feels it meets my needs. This is our way of being safe rather than sorry.

I don't ride Space Mountain for this reason. Strobes and me don't mix. I do like Splash Mountain and lower my eyes during any lights. My thing is trying to stay clear of those evil flashie things. When they're going, I try to avert my eyes as much as I can.
