So whats your most epic packing mistake - What have you forgotten to bring down to The World?

Our last trip, I realized about 90 minutes into the drive that I forgot my daughters princess costumes!!!!! We had to turn around, come back home and get them. I was so mad at myself, but at least we were driving, and able to turn around and get them.

So whats yours? :clown:

Not to DW, but one year we went to a very nice resort with a few restaurants that required men to wear a jacket/tie. DH left all his nice dress shirts hanging on the bedroom doorknob at home. We didn't realize until getting dressed one evening for dinner:confused3. We ended up going to a resort shop and buying a plain white dress shirt for roughly a bijillion dollars.:faint:

Leaving for the airport, I realized 10 minutes into the drive that I had left the plane tickets/passes/whatever sitting on the kitchen counter. We were JUST about to get on the highway, too.

Back in 2006, I spent months planning our vacation. My parents and niece met us there and I planned everything for the six of us. Packed everything neatly in Ziploc bags, brought Tink gifts, pre bought pins, pre bought glow necklaces, all the travel meds, etc...I was so proud-I'd thought of EVERYTHING and gotten it all in our luggage and it all weighed in perfectly at the airport!

The first day, ds goes to get dressed...NO underwear...had to go to the hotel gift shop and buy a pack of undies that cost a small fortune! :sad2:

When we got home, there on my bed, his underwear-all neatly packed up in a Ziploc bag.! :rotfl:

DW grilled & froze a bunch of nice steaks & burgers for us to nuke in the microwave at our hotel. 90 miles up the road, she asked if I had packed them. I hadn't. Cooler was full, anyway LOL

Not disney, but we got to check in at the airport one Christmas trip and we had left an entire bag at home--the one that had all of dd's things. Ugh. We were going to visit my parents so I called them and they went to Walmart while we were traveling and bought her three sets of clothes and a set of pjs. At least it was the cheapest family member to outfit. We joked that it was cheaper than paying the baggage fee. . . .

Where to start. I used to forget a lot of things before I stuck to my "lists". :goodvibes. Anyway, forgot socks one year, toothpaste, shaving cream pjs for DS, my DD pacifier when she was a baby, all my make up. Luckily, most of this was on trio we drove, so I just found a store and bought the things we needed. Hmm.... Better make sure I double check my list again for this trip. Lol.

Knock on wood, I have never forgotten to bring anything that I would consider really important on a WDW. I have forgotten a few minor things, but those were mostly convenience items. I generally start a list a week or so in advance and go over it several times to ensure everything that we need is on the list. Then when it comes time to pack, I double check to make sure everything on the list makes it in the bag or the car. I drive down, so even if something is left behind I can generally find a store and pick up a quick replacement item without much fuss.

We forgot a few convenience items too but nothing huge. Last month though, not traveling to Disney, I brought the kids to my grandparents cabin by myself...packed so well and got on the road nice and early...got there and realized I forgot ALL of our swimsuits! Luckily it isn't a busy lake so the kids could swim in their underwear but I don't think they will let me live that one down for a while ;)

We are driving back from the beach and I forgot EVERYTHING.
Let me preface this by saying that I worked 4 straight days before this trip. I'm an ER nurse and work 12 hour days. So when I work, it's my entire day. And we are putting our house on the market and have been busy with that.

List of things I forgot:
Box fan, I was miserable without my fan:-(
Flip flops for the beach
DDs pillow
Steak sauce
Beach sheet
Beach chairs
Radio
Koozies

This is just what I can think of now. I even had a list. Some of those things never made it to the list.

This was in the days before MDE when everything was linked electronically...

I put together this little touring plan in a 4x6 plastic photo album, and I had our tickets (that had been purchased from UT) and our Photopass+ voucher in there. There were some last minute changes to park hours, so I pulled the booklet out of my carryon the night before to make the updates to the appropriate pages...and left the booklet and our boarding passes sitting on our desk! So, yep....no park tickets, no Photopass+ voucher (which they said you absolutely needed to get your Photopass+ lanyard).

Luckily, I had a photocopy of the back of the tickets in my checked luggage (as backup) and the conceirge was able to look them up and attach them to our KTTW card, so that was easy. Getting the Photopass+ lanyard took more time and effort. I had a photocopy of the voucher, but they wouldn't accept it. Instead, the CM at the Photopass booth in the MK had to call somewhere and they had to look up my purchase using my email address. They spelled the address wrong, so tried telling me there was no record of the purchase. Luckily, I had the email confirmation to show the CM in the MK, and after much confusion, it was finally determined that the CM on the phone had misspelled the email address. It took about 30 minutes, but we finally got our lanyard. I also had a friend email me my touring plan and she also overnighted the album to us, so in the end, it all worked out.

I've also forgotten phone and/or camera chargers on every trip, but thanks to Amazon we were able to resolve that quickly.

It's a 10 hour drive to Orlando for us.

In December 2011, we were going to Universal for a long weekend right before Christmas. It was a headache trying to coordinate DS who was a senior's schedule and talk him into going.

About 5 hours into the trip, I realized I had forgotten our Universal Tickets in the file cabinet at home. I had our MVMCP tickets, but not Universal.

Panic ensued. I had ordered them with Undercover Tourist. Called and left a message on their machine, UT called me first thing the next morning and told me no worries. So we bought tickets at the Universal window and Undercover Tourist refunded our complete order for 6 adults after I sent the ticekts back!! Best customer service award ever!!

That was a good hour of panic in the dark on the interstate!

Another trip to grandma's, DS who was about 10 forgot to pack any underwear and pajamas. Had to make a Walmart run!

I forgot the Dramamine one year at WDW. Not a big deal but three of us take it every day of the trip so buying it all at WDW cost me about 40.00. On our honeymoon, many years ago, DH packed ONE shirt for the week. He was also very under packed on every thing else too. We had to do a major Mall run. I still check his bag, Many years and many trips later!

Last years Christmas trip I forgot to pack underwear for DS11 Ooops! He forgot to pack his phone charger. Luckily we had a car so off to Target we went!

Last month I forgot my tiara. I was totally bummed! Where else do I get to wear it without getting weird looks ;)

We drive to Disney. It is an 8 hour drive. We do the first 6 the first night after DH gets off work and stay at a hotel about an hour and half away. So I always pack an overnight bag, a toiletries bag, and our suitcases. We get to the overnight hotel and go to get the overnight bag. We forgot it. It was sitting with all the other luggage and everything else was there. It had our first day outfits and our bathing suits. Needless to say we made a trip to Walmart.

The worst one for me wasn't a Disney trip. We bought tickets to see Hairspray on Broadway and we drove to NYC. We were staying three days and on day two I went to look in my folder of trip stuff... and... NO tickets:scared1: Luckily we were able to call the company that sells the tickets and pickup new sets at will call with our IDs. But that was a HUGE mistake and could have been VERY expensive... that was when the show was brand new and tickets were around $300 a piece!! When we got home the tickets were sitting on the nightstand!!!

Oh, and a few years ago my family flew to Chicago for a cousin's wedding. My mom even took my daughter a day early because I couldn't get off work. I had to leave work Friday and go straight to the airport and then straight to the rehearsal dinner, so needless to say I wore a very cute, fancy dress to work that day and put a blazer over it. I planned to just wear it on the plane and straight to dinner. Anyways, this particular dress needs a special strapless bra so I was wearing that... well... I forgot to pack my normal bra in my bag (small weekend bag) and had to spend three days wearing a VERY uncomfortable strapless... it was terrible, lol. Now I always back extra bras in my bags, LOL :rotfl::rotfl:

Although I can't remember a time when I forgot to pack something I do remember on a recent trip i forgot to REPACK my favorite bra. Come on ladies, you know we all have that ONE bra that makes the girls look perfect. Well I forgot it at POR Royal Rooms and I still think about it today. Like where it went and if it was jsut thrown away. Granted, this was no cheap bra. All in all, we all have these moments! . :rotfl::laughing:

Ooh, speaking of forgetting to re-pack... I forgot my car keys on the bathroom sink of our hotel room. YEP!!! Plane taxied into the terminal, I reached into my purse for my keys, and after searching for a few seconds, the picture of them on the bathroom sink flashed into my mind. $120 taxi ride later, then driving BACK to the airport parking lot with the spare keys to get my car again.... My husband was NOT happy with me. Did I mention that we didn't get back home (the second time) till about 2am, and everyone had school/work the next morning. Not to mention the fact that it was Halloween the next day, and I left the costumes in my parents car (they drove back from Florida) so I had to go out before school, and buy two new costimes for my girls. Yeah, I guess I pushed that memory back into the dark depths of my mind, because I totally forgot about it!!!

My son (9) has an epipen for his allergy. Although we are not traveling until next Aug I have printed on every planning document "Check Epipen before leaving the house" I am so worried I might forget!!

My worst was realizing I hadn't packed any pajama pants, only tops. And I was sharing my room with my 20 year old nephew. I think I slept in shorts that night.

Not the OMG of leaving my keys behind, but it was a stupid thing to forget!:headache:
