EPIC isn't ONCE in a lifetime~ Final entry before GO time (4/17)!!! April 2013 PTR

Well, I can say with almost 100% certainty that I will be sticking with YC CL!!!! :cheer2:

The reasons for this may be considered laughable:

The main reason is that tour dates were announced for
THE PACKAGE TOUR

What is the Package Tour??? Well, one thing I did not disclose is that at 34 years old, I am still a HUGE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK FAN!!!

Yeah, I enjoy "Hangin' Tough" and having "The Right Stuff" :upsidedow

In summer of 2011, my girlfriends and I went to two concerts in one week!!!

And today, NKOTB (yeah, I just used the abbreviation) announced tour dates for this summer, and we are going to buy tickets for the 5/31 show at Mohegan Sun!!!! :cheer2:

So...basically the $500 that it would cost me to upgrade to the Poly is now going to feul my Donnie Wahlberg obsession...the obsession I've had since I was 10 years old. Yay!!!!! :cool1:

On another note, last month we refinanced our house for the 2nd time down to a 2.75% fixed interest rate...and we just got our escrow disbursement check today, to the tune of $1500!!!! Now, our spending money for Disney is all taken care of!!!! ::yes::

Today is a good day...:goodvibes

Ah...a blast from the past! NKOTB fueld a lot of my dreams way back then too! But I was in with a bossy grade 8 girl crowd and they dictated that I could only "like" Jonathan.:crazy2: He was not my favorite one!! Donny was the cutest!

Anyway, now that I feel old, I will just say YaY for your cheque!! It comes at a perfect time for you!:cool1:

LOL. Glad you are sticking with YC! Did you book YC CL GV? As you know one of my biggest beefs with YC is the few garden view rooms there are and how super cheap it is to upgrade to GV from SV - like 11 bucks a night. LOVE the full balconies at YC. Love the lounge - much much better set up than BC CL which I did not care for AT ALL. The YC CL staff is SUPER. SAB speaks for itself and the close distance to Epoct - you will love love it. we were at BWI CL in 09 and the pool was down so they shuttled us to SAB and it was love at first sight for us....Have gone back every year since but had to stay in BC CL b/c of the GV issue at YC - there were none! Did not enjoy it near as much as YC. Huge difference in my opinion.....:wave2:

Whoa! A girl who told you who you could like?? That's a serious crew!!! :rotfl:
I have loved Donnie forever...when we saw them in 2011, it was soooo much fun!!! So, my same crew is doing it again this summer, tickets on sale tomorrow!!!!! (for fan club members...which I am....:p )

We could only get Standard View...:upsidedow
But, we are not huge stand outside on your balcony people so I think we'll be ok...and if I'm not mistaken, we could have a chance at some fireworks views??? So that always makes me happy!!! pixiedust:

Aww Shucks, Thanks!!!

Yes, we have crossed paths quite a bit! :goodvibes

I have to admit that I was shocked when I saw a post of yours the other day about switching to an AKL villa! I know what a proponent of Poly CL you are! :thumbsup2

We'll get there one day...I suppose it doesn't hurt to keep checking, does it...and if it's meant to be, it will be...:goodvibes

I was thinking about our "conversation". Then I saw that you are going to Atlantis next year--awesome. We spent one vacation in the Carribean and it was a blast. So, if you wait to go to Poly CL for the next, next trip rack rates will be much higher (even discounted) and your daughter will be a disney adult for tickets which adds to the cost. What seems like alot of money now might look like a deal a year or two from now. You have 40% off at 2013 rates with a disney child. Forgive me if I am overstepping my bounds. I come from a good place. The YC/BC are beautiful but cost less and always will. I have stayed at BWI. It is a lovely area. There is just something about the Polynesian.

I can totally appreciate where you are coming from. :goodvibes

I do not think you are overstepping your bounds. I totally agree with your rationale and welcome the input. :thumbsup2

Part of the problem is that the Poly GV CL is not available, and I do not want to pay for the LV or TPV, so....

But, it's possible that its just not available for the full 10 days...I am thinking about calling to see if it's available for the last 5 days of our trip, and then that way I could just do a split stay between Poly/YC. I'm not the biggest fan of the split stay idea, but I'm not sure if a better opportunity to try one will happen than right now.

I think the split stay with a long trip is kind of appealing. It has been a fear of the unknown for us as well. We like to settle in but have more than enough time to do a split stay. I am sure it would work out fine. There is one thing that we would do to ensure a smooth transition. We have taken the cabs to parks on occasion. They are always parked right out front of the resorts. There are vans as well as taxis. For a small price, $15 - $20 plus tip, you could move your family from one resort to another and check-in with all of your luggage.

Once again, whatever you decide, I hope it turns out great!pixiedust:

Thanks! I just realized something though. At the same time that we would be planning on being in a GV room in the Hawaii building...the reno would be going on in Tokelau.....so on the side we'd be on we'd be facing construction.....

I've seen people in Tokelau right now complaining about the noise coming from Hawaii.....I wouldn't want my Poly stay tainted by construction....Poly might have to wait...::yes::

Plus, I'm afraid to make any changes to my ressie at this point because of the screwy system and the issues with CMs being reported. :upsidedow

It would be my luck to make the change and have every all messed up in the system! :crazy2:

Right now, everything is showing up correctly and I am paid in full...I really shouldn't tempt fate. :rotfl2:

You will have an awesome trip at any resort you choose. Your attitude is amazing. Anyway, YC CL is a top notch resort and location. It is also a new experience for your family. Can't wait to read your trip report!:goodvibes

But, today I got tickets for this!!!

nkotb.jpg

Yup, this is happening!!!! So excited. Got the tickets through the 1st presale for fan club members. ;)

My friends and I aren't so sure about our seats, so we may end up selling them on Stub Hub and buying a little closer (like front row)....but, we are in, at least we have the tickets!!!! :cool1:

Candace - How did I just find out that you had a PTR??? I know, because my ipad doesn't show the clickable links in the signatures! The words are there but you can't click on them.

So now I am all caught up. Although I think I knew about your RCs, I didn't know about your iteniery (sp?). So, have you guys always done one park in the AM, back to the resort and a different park in the PM? Do you find it hard to get motivated to go back out at night?

Oh and for the record Jenny - Jordan was my favorite! And not because anyone said he had to be :rotfl2: I think I am a bit older than both of you because I am pretty sure I was in 7th and 8th grade when they were touring the first time.

Ha! I only recently put the link back in my signature, because I wasn't being so good about updating. :upsidedow

But, I'm on the ball now! :thumbsup2

Yeah, when we have park hoppers, we hop! :thumbsup2 On our July trip, after a nice afternoon break, we are usually really ready to get out at night, so we enjoy that touring style!

A few of our days include Epcot and DHS,which is another reason I really don't think it's a good idea to move from YC...since we can walk back and forth between them. :p

Logged onto my online Disney account....and noticed the reminder for me to do on-line check in in......24 Days!!!! :faint:

I know that this is the new thing with the new website...the whole check in at 60 days out. I don't know how I feel about it. :upsidedow
On one hand...YAY!!! I get to check in at Disney!!! :cool1:

But...I know this has something to do with the whole MyMagic+ thing which I don't quite understand and have this irrational fear of them rolling out just in time for my trip, causing mass chaos and havoc! :scared:

Plus, I'm not sure I want to do on-line check in...we always did it when we were staying values and had great experiences. When we chose WL CL for our July trip, I was told repeatedly that there is no need to do OCI for CL stays (you know, because of the personal check in upstairs...yada, yada, yada)...but I did do the OCI...and it was the longest check in EVER!!!! I *think* it is because I did not notify them that I was a CL guest, which I have since learned I should have done. When we were halfway through the transaction (which involved systems that were on the fritz) the super nice CM said "Oh! You're CL!!" and proceeded to take us upstairs herself...:confused3

So, I am pretty hesitant to do OCI this time around...unless it means that I won't get access to MyMagic+ choices???? What to do, what to do???

Just another thing to obsess over for the next 24 days....:rotfl:

I say definitely do online check in! You need to see if that gets you access to any cool magic+ options!

I think we need park hoppers next trip. I think we could do a schedule like yours. As long as we don't rush for rope drop. My family just doesn't want to set alarms and rush!

Ii didn't do online check in last year but I think I'm going to give it a try this year!

Oh absolutely!!! We are a "no alarms" family on vacation for sure!!! :thumbsup2
Honestly, we usually wake up around 9 or 9:30 am and don't get to the parks until about 10-10:30am. Yeah, I know some people :faint: at the thought of that, but, it's vacation!!!! We relax, even at Disney!
Yeah, Fastpasses might be gone, blah, blah, blah...but we are not adverse to waiting in line if need be...it doesn't bother us.

Maybe we are just weird though, we don't follow touring plans or crowd calendars. We also don't avoid EMH's (we gravitate towards them...late ones of course) and we like the buses! :rotfl:

We have a very different touring style than a lot of other Dis'ers I think?? Or are there more out there like us??? :confused3

You're going to be in AK the same day we are, the 21st, so if you see a blond 4 year old girl and a little brown haired 2 year old boy going bat-crap insane over animals, they may just be mine! :thumbsup2

OOOH! I'll keep an eye out!!!!! We only do a half day at AK....but go there because of the chicken fried rice!!! (And Everest, of course) :rotfl2:

I think we might try a show too...isn't one of them closing??? Nemo or LK??? Can't remember but I though I read that somewhere...:confused3

I have AK on our schedule for the afternoon / evening of the 21st. So, if you see two older people, that might be us. (Sorry, I don't know how to make smaller!)

May I add that I weigh 75 lbs LESS now than I did when that pic was taken? :) And note my LGMH!

The rumor is that Festival of the Lion King may be closing, but not being cancelled. It will be relocated to the Africa area when the much-discussed Avatarland is built in the Camp Mickey area.

Cute couple!!! I'll keep my eye out for the skinny Minnie with the LGMH! I have always said I would make one of those...maybe I will this trip!
