Buried in an article about the Land update by Jim Hill was this line about the Soarin' attraction at Epcot:
Particularly two or three years down the line, when Epcot gets its very own "Soarin' " movie that's filled with footage of incredible sights & sounds around the globe.
This sounds great, and I hope Jim is right & TDA will spring for the cost. It would provide the variety that these two attractions need and fit it in with the Epcot theme so much better than the California film.

Call me a skectic, but until I see real evidence, I'll file this rumor along with the "news" of new films at Star Tours, Canada, and France, which I've been reading about on fan sites for so many years.

Actually, the Soarin' film from DCA is really about looking onto the land -- agriculture, desserts, seashores, cities, mountains, and so on. It's not about airplanes or hang gliders, any more than Listen To The Land is about boats or canals. Just removing "California" from the title will go a long way to emphasizing the content, rather than where that content was filmed.

Don't get me wrong. I'd be happy to see a different film at Epcot than at DCA -- as long as the Epcot film would be as good or better. I just don't expect it. And I think people will be surprised how well the film fits in with the theme of The Land once WDI reworks the whole pavilion.

Sarangel... I'm just curious... You wrote, "I hope Jim is right & TDA will spring for the cost." I thought TDA is Team Disney Anaheim. Why would TDA spring for the cost?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I get the impression from all my reading that Team Disney Anaheim is the force behind most of the cuts in ride imagineering these days (possibly because I follow a lot of DL stuff, being on this coast).

I'd be happy to know who *really* makes the choice to do things on the cheap.

Hi, This was mentioned just Thursday night on the Travel channel show "What's New in Orlando in 2005". In the WDW segment, they mentioned Expedition Everest, Stitch's Great Escape, the new stunt show at the Studios, AND that DLs "Soarin' " will be brought to EPCOT. In fact, they even showed how the ride was built and that it will be incorporated into the American Adventure in WS.:hyper:

I saw that show kristielee, I thought it was cool the way they showed the working model he made with his childhod erector set.
Was there today, look like a larger area in the lower level of The Land has been walled off.
