Epcot's Food and Wine Festival

Hi, we're visiting DW this Oct and one thing on the priority 'to do' list is the Food and Wine Festival. I was wondering if anyone has gone to the festival before and how did you like it? Any tips? Thanks!

IT'S AWESOME!!

Take cash for the booths, it's easier. Look at the menu for this year ahead of time to determine your "must trys." Check out the seminar schedules and plan the ones you want, because availability is limited. Just snack your way around World Showcase, a la carte style. It's great!!!! I can't wait to go to another one!

Ditto to everything Ophie said! We went last year for the first time and LOVED it! Can't wait to go back this year! Last year, one thing we did and really enjoyed is ate/drank our way around the world - though we only made it 1/2 way. We each got one food item and one drink item at each (well alomst every) booth. This year I think we might try splitting one food and one drink at each booth...I think we'll get further along. Also, we did the Party for the Senses on Saturday night - awesome time! There is a great review of it on www.allearsnet.com.

I have done the party of the senses the past two years and it is worth every penny. GREAT food, good wines, premire location to watch Illuminations. It is on every Saturday night throughout F&W Fest.

Is there a listing of the seminars etc. already out? I heard they were to come out in May, but haven't seen it yet. Anyone know where to find the info?

As far as I know they aren't out yet. I am waiting for the info too because we want to purchase our Party for the Senses tickets. I know allears has some great information about last year's Festival (food, seminars, special events, etc.) but the actual dates and stuff for this year aren't yet available.

We were at F&WF for the first time this past Oct.! We absolutely loved it! As it is, our favorite thing to do in WS "eat around the world" ... and F&WF gave us a great opportunity to sample even more foods and try new things. There was so much to choose from ... from the temporary booths alone! We didn't even have to go into the WS "regular" take-out spots to eat!

We ate so much and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The portions were good sized and we shared everything, so that made it easier to try more foods. I even had the best Moroccan and S. African wines! We're looking forward to doing it again this Oct.! I loved having a vast variety of different things.

We didn't do any of the seminars or what have you. Just didn't have time as it was a short vaca.!

Enjoy yourself and have a blast. Eat a lot b/c it's all so delicious!

How much does it cost to eat around the world? What are the portion sizes?

The Food and Wine Festival is what got DH and I hooked on WDW in 2003!You will love it!

Our favorite thing to do is also to eat and drink around the world showcase. Small appetizer-size servings run about $2.00-$4.00. Wine is anywhere from $3.00 for a tiny serving to about $8.00 per glass for the champagne in France (my favorite!). Beer is about $7.00 for a 16-oz glass.

We like to stop in at the various countries to listen to the entertainment--The British Invasion (Beatles tribute band) in England, Off Kilter (guys in kilt doing a comedy act and playing everything from 80s rock to It's A Small World--complete with bagpipe!) in Canada, Mo' Rockin' (world music) in Morocco.

There's also a couple of different acts outside of France--one a silent comic (I wouldn't quite call him a mime!) and the other an amazing (not sure what to call him??) stuntman. There are acrobats in China, a model train set in Germany, a tin toy museum in Japan, and much more!
