Here's the scenario...

Our last day of being in the parks is May 30th, and we have AK planned for the morning, and then in the afternoon I thought we'd visit EP before we hopped to MK to close out our park days (the next day we are doing DTD and Tyhpoon Lagoon before we head home on sunday).

My concern is that EP is going to be SUPER busy that Friday as it's an EMH day, but I really want to get some caramel corn from the Germany pavillion to take home :rotfl2: and some for my mother as a birthday gift, as that's her favorite snack. Will WS be an absolute nightmare that afternoon?

I am open to getting the caramel corn earlier in the week, but I am concerned it will go stale. I know this is silly, but I want to plan out our last day as efficiently as I can, and I want to close out at MK as that is our favorite park.

How about bringing a ziploc bag? In my experience with caramel corn, it keeps pretty well and doesn't get stale like other types of popcorn. I think it's because the caramel provides a layer of protection from the air, keeping it from getting stale.

OMG someone replied! lol I was hoping that my silly question wouldn't get overlooked :) Yes, I will probably bring ziplock bags, but I was curious none the less...wasn't sure how long it would last even with that, and was wondering if I'd be taking a chance with WS being too busy the last day and I'd miss it :rotfl2:

Epcot will probably be crowded, but I would think they'd still have caramel corn at Karamel Kuche. The line might be long, but it's hard to say just how long (e.g., 10 minutes, 20 minutes). You might ask at the cashier if you can just purchase the caramel corn without waiting in line (sometimes they allow it because the caramel corn is pre-bagged and it reduces the number of people in line who aren't interested in the stuff in the glass case).

I've bought caramel corn and put it into a Ziploc baggie at the start of my trip and then proceeded to eat it for the next 10 days (every night as a snack) and it still tasted great on the 10th day. So, I think you can purchase it earlier in the trip, put it into a ziploc baggie, and it'll hold up okay for quite a while. Avoid getting any moisture in the bag, but other than that, I think you'd be okay.

Quite honestly, the only times I've seen Epcot "super busy" are the weekend nights during the Food and Wine Festival. Plus, you are talking about a bag of caramel corn in Germany and while the line there might be a bit longer than you wish, it shouldn't take that much time and besides - it's for your mother!

I brought home some of the caramel corn and it kept fine. It was about 4 days old by the time I got it home. I didn't put it in a ziploc but I bet it would have tasted even better if I had.

Anything for our mothers right? ;-)
