We've been to WDW once...awhile ago, and will be returning next summer for 6 park days. Our plan is do go to each park and MK and EP 2 times. Our kids will be 17 and 13 when we come.

I'm looking at Epcot attractions and are there only 4 or 5 main rides? I have noted Soarin, Spaceship Earth, Frozen (which no way my son will ride), Test Track and Mission Space (but not sure if we will skip that ride due to motion sickness)? What am I missing. I know that later this year they are also opening Remy, which is my kind of ride.

There are smaller ones too such as Journey Into Imagination (which I remember was cute) and Gran Fiesta and Living wih the Land (good ride to escape heat)

Is Epcot a 2 day park? When I asked our kids if we did 6 days which parks did they want to repeat and right away they said MK and Epcot, which seemed to make sense at the time.

You're not really missing anything (the Nemo ride is really just an entrance to the aquarium). Epcot has always been a one day park for me

We don’t go to EPCOT for the rides… We can spend most of the day in the World Showcase speaking with cast members from around the world, enjoying the shops and films, checking out menus and snacking…. people watching and enjoying the sights and sounds. Others are there for the rides, I guess.

If you're looking for attractions, the other parks will fill that void.

EPCOT is more-so focused on shows, festivals, and exploring the cultures of various countries.

There are two new attractions opening soon...

and

I always take two days to explore EPCOT. There's just too much food to try and enjoy for one day. Remember... if you have a Park Hopper ticket, you can walk or take the boat from Hollywood Studios to EPCOT, so 1.5 days is an option.

I'm also biased, as you can probably tell from my username.. :earsboy:

Thanks for the replies. I will note that we went two times last time we were at Disney but one time was just a half day, and another time we spent 3/4 of the day and then went to MK for the Halloween party.

We currently do not have park hoppers, which I guess would solve the issue, but we will add them if they end up bringing back / offering free dining next summer.

Thanks...I will check out as well the other attractions that are not rides per se. And yes, I missed Nemo and Turtle Talk (but latter may be too young for our kids this time around).

World Showcase will be nice too...just gotta make a plan to work around the weather (hot in August!). And we would want to catch any fireworks on one of the days if it returns.

Why?
We love Turtle Talk with Crush...
(and our ages are "ever so much more than 20.")

TTalk is always a great (often hilarious) "improv comedy" experience... different "show" every single time.
And, we don't have any kids with us most trips.

Epcot can be much less hectic than MK, however not all kids enjoy it as much due to lack of thrill rides. I can't attest for MS, as I've never been on it and probably never will. TT and Soarin are fun and Imagination was better in its original form, before the redo. We still miss classics like Horizons and World of Motion which were replaced by MS and TT respectively. Like everything else, it's subjective. What I like might be different than others and vice versa. World Showcase is always fun and we finally get to do F&W because of its earlier start this year. Ratatouille is coming soon, so that might appeal to kids. Whether Epcot is a 2 day park is in the eye of the beholder :umbrella:

Test Track is a favorite for our kids, and I personally loved Soarin at Disneyland. Remy looks fun. So at least we would be able to go on these multiple times. We will probably skip Mission Space unless our kids choose to try it .

I assume next summer will also be Food and Wine Festival when we go, but not sure what that means.

Is it open now? It was closed when we were there for our last trip.
It always a lot of fun, and you don't always know where that show is headed as a lot depends on the kids and questions they have.

We spend a great deal of time at Epcot, but as others said, we don't go for the rides. We tend to hit each ride once per trip (except Mission Space--I skip that entirely) and we hit Spaceship Earth pretty much every time we are in Future World, LOL! We just love that ride. :)

But we like to really take our good sweet time in World Showcase, so we can easily spend two days just there. And now that there are almost always festivals happening we spend time checking out the special booths and activities related to the festival, too.

Plus, Epcot is our go-to hop-to park because we love spending evenings there. :)

Did your kids indicate why they picked Epcot as a 2-day park? Don't want them to have unrealistic expectations for what they'll do there the 2nd day!

My upcoming trip we aren't planning any days in Epcot. We will do other parks during the day and then go to Epcot in the evening for dinner and a ride or two.

I think it's because they really remember Test Track, so that in itself makes the park stand out.

Hollywood Studios didn't seem to have a ton of attractions last time. DH and DS will love the new Star Wars stuff, but not sure if it's something we'd want to do twice (esp DD an I). And AK didn't interest us last time....although it is one of our parks this time ...esp with FOP and Navi as those look really cool.
