Epcot Touring Question...

I have two days allocated for Epcot in our 8 day plan...

One is for my daughter's 21st Birthday day and we talked about doing some drinking and snacking "around the world" and shopping and doing the films etc. before having dinner at Biergarten (she loves all things German). She loves the idea of her first legal drink being purchased in Epcot!

The other day I planned on just doing Future World.

Does anyone split the park up like this? All I see online is east side/west side plans.

I'm trying to use the Touring plans site to plan our days but it just doesn't seem to think we can do all of Future World in one day.

I think this is a great idea - you will have plenty of time to enjoy both areas over the course of 2 days!!

We normally do two days at Epcot, but usually do both Future world and the showcase both days. The reason is that we love to ride Soarin and Test Track and with the old system the fastpasses for those would get gone quick, so we would do what we wanted to over there in the morning and then head over to the Showcase for the afternoon. This way, we could ride our favorites multiple times.

We have a personalized TP for March for Futureworld in the AM and then World Showcase, plus a few things like Innoventions, in the PM. We have been before, and we're not doing everything (no EO), so it's doable. Did a similar thing this summer. However, we get there at RD and won't leave until closing.

I find it hard to make it through all of WS in one day if I am eating and drinking. We try to start in Mexico on one day and Canada on the next.

Future World usually opens a few hours before WS...........so you could actually do FW in the morning and then take the other half and do WS...............

We usually start in Future World at Park opening, and then move over to WS about noon and spend the rest of the day there. EPCOT is 2 day park for us too. That first day, we usually get through Soarin (by FP- now FP+), Nemo, Living with the Land, Club Cool, Character Connection, Turtle talk with Crush, wandering the Aquarium, Journey into Imagination before it is time to hit our lunch ADR in WS. We have found it harder to get all that in now that FP+ has increased the standby lines for Nemo and Imagination significantly though, but we can still get a good chunk of it done. WS does not open until 11:00 a.m., so you have at least a couple of hours in FW in the morning before moving over. We wouldn't give up that FW time and just get there and start at WS when it opens at 11, but that is just us.

We typically don't make it through all of World Showcase in a day, BUT that is in large part due to having a kid who wants to see the characters in WS (there are a ton), as well as do a bunch of Agent P missions (you might actually want to try one of those just for fun- the special effects are cute- since your daughter likes Germany- that would be a good one to try- it is a really cute one).

I think you could easily do all of Future World in one full day if you wanted to, but for us at least the lure of World Showcase would be too much not to cross over to that half of the park on any EPCOT day!

For my daughter's birthday we are starting the day with a 7:45 breakfast at Ohana, then heading to Epcot. I suppose we could fit in a few rides at FW before 11 when we go over to WS that way we won't have to try and cram them ALL in on the other day especially since I cant do the two headliners' FP+ for the same day.

She is a HUGE Phineas and Ferb fan, so I know she is going to want to fit in the Agent P stuff too!

I don't know how we are going to handle characters, at first she said she had no real interest in Meet N Greets, and then this weekend she said she maybe wants to get pics with the classic characters, Mickey Minnie Pluto Goofy Donald etc. and also with Tiana who is her favorite princess.

We have ADRs at a few Character meals because I figured that would give us enough chances to take pics with them and we wouldn't have to wait in lines, but I book no princess meals and I'm just afraid shes going to all of a sudden decide she needs to take a picture with Belle or something.

You could get a Passport to the countries and have your daughter write in all her impressions, what you ate and/or drank in each country and then have the Cast Member at the Kidspot sign it for her. Then she'd have a reminder of her special birthday celebration.

Although I generally do a world showcase day and a future world day, I still do a couple rides on WS day because of the FP ride tiers and because WS doesn't open til 11, so I have time. And I either don't get WS completed, or I short change my last couple countries as I drag my tired self through the finish! That's why I like to do my world showcase day first - I'll know which countries I missed and can get back to them at the end of my future world day.

We always allocate 2 days for EPCOT since the park is so big. World Showcase is best a night because it feels more like your in another country for each one you visit.
We (as adults) did try the Kimpossible game and it was fun. We have not made time to try the Phineas and Ferb yet. If you actually play the games and see the attractions in Innoventions it will take some time. We mix those in with the fast passes for TT or Soarin. Mission Space is usually not as long a wait. Don't pass up the fountain in the middle of the park and look at the showtimes for the entertainment around Future world and World Showcase. You can fine times here.. http://wdwent.com/

This is what I have planned for my trip during F&G. Day 1 - WS and eating around the world. Day 2 - FW.

I had to pry the Agent P communicator out of DH's hands and made him give it back to DD! If your daughter is a huge Phineas and Ferb fan, you better plan quite a bit of time for that! I think they have missions in 7 or 8 of the countries and they take around 20 minutes each. They are really fun!

As far as the EPCOT characters, get on KennythePirate.com for a listing of all the characters and their schedules. That way if she suddenly decided she had to have a picture with Belle (who has really long lines), you can figure out how to time it to have the least wait. Jasmine and Belle typically have the longest lines. We try to get there about 20 minutes (or at the very least 15 which usually gets us father back) before the they come out. That usually puts us close enough to the front of line (usually around 3 to 5 groups back-we've never been first that I can remember). Be aware that the lines for Belle and Jasmine will get big before the character comes out (for Belle and Jasmine especially), and that the minute the character appears (for a lot of them not just Belle and Jasmine) it really grows. It is not uncommon for an EPCOT WS character's line to get cut off right after they come out. In our past experience, that really only applied to Belle and Jasmine, but on our last trip, it was that way for Mulan too. We have never had any trouble seeing Mulan if we got there before she came out or shortly after she came out, and this past trip we were there less than 5 minutes after she came out and her line was already closed. We got there about 15 minutes before she came out for her next meet time- we were the 5th or 6th group, and were surprised to see that her line again got closed just a minute or two after she came out. Donald meets in his Mexico outfit outside to the side of the Mexico building, and his lines aren't usually bad. For Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins and Alice, our experience has been that as long as we got there about 5 minutes before they came out, our wait has not been bad. The Character Connection lines (Mickey/Minnie) used to get long (like 45 minutes to an hour or more), but since FP+ has come out we have noticed that they have been shorter a good part of the day- we saw it mostly at 10 to 20 minutes during our last trip.

Thank you so much for the tips! I'll have her take a look and KennythePriate.com and think about whether or not she might be interested in having photos with anyone who meets in Epcot. I'm thinking Mulan will be a must do...she's always quoting the movie and singing "I'll make a man out of you"
