Epcot to WL

Hello -

We've never used Disney transportation when leaving Epcot after Illuminations and we were wondering if it was very crowded or had long waits. I have a very impatient DH (probably more so than our DS), especially at night. Most likely we'd be there on a Friday or Saturday night, so it would probably be a busy night. Are there several buses running to the resorts from Epcot at that time? Would it be better to monorail to MK/boat to WL, or would the monorail wait be worse than a bus?

I would take the bus. They have lots of busses running at closing time. You would have to take 2 monorails to get to MK, then the boat, I think that would be much longer.

I agree. I would take the buses. Much more frequent and it goes right to your hotel. After closing the buses show up often, sometimes one right after the other.

You could also take the monorail from Epcot to TTC and then the bus from TTC to WL. If the line for the bus at Epcot to WL isn't too long, then the direct bus would be faster.

Actually I asked a stupid question about the monorail/boat to WL - I forgot all about the monorail not going directly from Epcot to MK, that it went to TTC. Thanks for straightening me out - I'm not used to using Disney transportation!

If you don't want to deal with the crowds after Illuminations, then hang around Epcot for awhile. About 1/2 hour later most of your crowds have thinned out and you should be able to get a bus without too much waiting.

You could also take the monorail from Epcot to TTC and then the bus from TTC to WL. If the line for the bus at Epcot to WL isn't too long, then the direct bus would be faster.

Although currently, this option would work, they've been tinkering with removing that bus from the TTC, and making it direct to the MK. It would be a good idea to ask before using that particular route, as the detour might be time intensive.
