Is there a bus from the parking lot of EPCOT to parking lot of DHS?

We have a cooking demo tomorrow, that is in the front of EPCOT, and then we have FPs for DHS. It would be tight time wise if we had to wait for the boat trip from the International Gateway to DHS. Is there a bus?

Thanks,
Bobbi:goodvibes

Yes :)

Yes there is a bus but the few times we've taken it, the wait seemed to take FOREVER. :confused3 (I don't think they keep this line to a schedule). Plus, it's usually waaaay down at the end of the WDW bus stops. Very lonely. :sad2:

If you need to keep to schedule, consider taking the more frequent POP or AoA buses and transfer there to a DHS bus. Cab would obviously be fastest but also involves $$.

The only time I've taken the bus between Epcot and DHS, the timing was perfect. I could board the bus immediately when I arrived at the bus stop in both directions!

This neither proves nor disproves that the service on this route is more frequent or less frequent than to service between DHS and POP or AoA. It only shows that catching any WDW bus quickly is a matter of luck.

Supposedly, you should never wait more than 20 minutes for a bus, but any of us who have used WDW buses extensively have had experiences of waiting far longer than that, often while three buses for another destination come by.

All that being said, I would much rather wait for one bus than for two buses. I would always pick a direct bus over a connection at a resort.

I could walk to the IG at Epcot from the front in 10 minutes. Maybe 15. Then the boat should be along soon to DHS. I would trust that over the bus honestly!

That's an old picture. The bus to DHS now stops at one of the load zones closest to the Epcot main gate, fully covered and sheltered from sun & rain.

Just like any other bus, the Epcot to DHS bus should run every 15-20 minutes, and the travel time is 10 minutes, at most. Even if you could walk to IG in 10 minutes (and I think 15 is more realistic for most people), you'd still have a good 20-25 minute boat ride, and possibly a 10-minute wait for the boat.

Of course, just like anything else, there will be times when there's a shortage of buses or drivers, or someone drops the ball, but a max 20 minute wait for the bus is the norm.

I haven't noticed where the cooking demos are this year; that will obviously affect the walking times to the bus stop & IG.

Thank you! I thought there was one, but when DH called WDW info from our room he was told no.

I have a scooter, so I can do it via IG, but DH is hurting a bit. We will figure it out.

Bobbi:)

PS. The cooking demos are in the front of EPCOT in the Wonders of Life building.

I would too but when I while waiting, several resort buses stopped nearby. I knew I would be able to catch a resort Epcot bus faster. But I had invested so much time in the DHS bus that statistically, I should wait and go direct. Cost me 45 minutes and 35 minutes on two different trips.

That's an old picture.
Sorry, I found it through a search and it was from a 2012 post.

... which shows us once again: don't trust resort, park, or call center cm's for transpo info without verifying it with a transpo cm. :sad2:

So the walk to IG will be about the same as from the front gate, but the walk to the bus stops will also be about 10 minutes.

No problem. As has been often said, load zone assignments can change at anytime without notice.

Walking from the Festival Center to the International Gateway dock takes much longer than walking from the Festival Center to Epcot bus center at the main entrance.

On average, waiting for a boat is likely to take just as long as waiting for bus.

The boat moves much more slowly than a bus, and it docks at Boardwalk, YC/BC, and Swan/Dolphin on the way to DHS. The bus travels a longer distance, but it's a nonstop ride at a higher speed.

If getting to DHS quickly is important, I would pick the bus over the boat.
