Epcot to Airport?

Ok transportation experts. My family of four is staying at All Star Music and will be at Epcot on an upcoming Sunday. We have to be there until 3:00pm for a performance our daughter is in. We have an outbound Southwest flight at 6:00pm. How do we get back to the airport? Our plan was to use the Magical Express from the hotel - is there enough time to leave Epcot around 3pm and get to the hotel in time to get our stuff and get on the Express? Is there a better alternative?

I don't think you will be able to use Magical Express. They pick up at your resort about 3 hours before your flight and you should be ready about 15 minutes before that. So you would have to be at ASM about 2:45 will all your carry on bags ready to go.

As for other alternatives, I'm not sure. I think there are cabs waiting at all the parks, maybe you could bring your carry on luggage and get a cab from Epcot to MCO.

Can you use RAC at All Stars? If so, check your luggage, and get your boarding passes prior to leaving for EPCOT. Even if you decided to take a cab from EPCOT to the airport, at least you wouldn't have to worry about carrying your luggage.

It's a Southwest flight, so can't use RAC (AFAIK).

I might be wrong, but I thought Southwest was now part of RAC at all Disney properties.

Nobody's got it all right so far, but the good news for the OP is that they can use RAC at their resort to check their bags and get their BPs. SWA now is participating in RAC at all WDW resorts except for CBR and OKW.

If you use DME on the way in, RAC should check you in automatically sometime at or after the 24 hour mark. I personally would check myself in or use EBCI.

Take your bags to the RAC desk anytime after 6:00 a.m.--since the earliest you can use RAC is 12 hours before your flight--to check them and get your BPs. That way you can head straight to security once you get to the airport.

As far as getting yourselves to the airport, you will not be able to use DME as your pick up time would be at approximately 3:00 p.m.

That means you will need to get out of Epcot ASAP after the performance and probably just catch a cab. You'll have to drag your carry ons with you and stash them in a locker or something. One option might be to get to BC with your carry ons in the AM (probably via cab from ASMu) and leave your bags with bell services there. Then you could exit Epcot via the IG and walk to BC after the performance to collect your bags and take a cab from there.

FWIW, you really don't want to be getting that cab any later than 4:00 p.m. from wherever you are at the time.

Bingo!!! This is exactly what I would have suggested. I would have as little carryon baggage as possible though. That way you won't have to worry about it...maybe not even have to leave it anywhere.
