Has anyone done this recently? I want to book this for my Dh but was hoping for a DVC discount. DVC MS tells me that they have a discount but it is not on the tour that includes time around the outside, just an hour training type tour inside. does anyone know anything different? MS said this was a one hour inside training and practice, I see on the Disney site the one that takes you on a tour of EPCOT is 2 hours. I want to get that one. Any info would be appreciated.

thanks.

I believe that the tour you are looking for is the Around the World at Epcot tour. This is the one that goes around the World Showcase. The member website says that there is a 15% member discount on this tour. You don't have to call MS to get the discounted rate. You can call the regular tour line at 407-WDW-TOUR (939-8687) and tell them you are a DVC member. If you have a Disney Visa, many times the discount will be 20%.

The Around the World at Epcot is the tour you want. As far as I'm aware, that is the only tour offered at Epcot. You can go to Innoventions and have a 10-15 minute session on a Segway but that is free.

When I booked this with the DVC discount, I did not book through MS, just through the normal WDW-TOUR number. I told them I was a DVC member and they applied the discount for me.

Disney Visa is usually the deepest discount. In addition to that, there are often AAA, AP, and DVC discounts for 15%.

Thank you everyone. I will call tonight after work. I have all of the above mentioned possible discounts so I will see what will be the best. Thanks again. I will have one happy DH since he won't have to go around to the rides, etc with me.:cool1:

The new tour is on the larger X2 machine. It is 3 hours long. You get to go on Soarin without the wait (head of the line). Almost as much time off machine as on. Goes into living seas and behind the gardens in the land pavillion. Cost over $100 per person. Wife and I did it on 7/14. The world showcase tour is better.

I called the WDW-tour number yesterday and made my reservations for an October tour. I asked for, and got the 15% DVC discount with no problem.

Thank you everyone. I am going to surprise my DH with this. With the DVC discount of 15% it comes to a little over $80. Not bad for 2 hours. Made the reservation for 8/24 at 9:30. He loves this stuff. He went on ATV tours in Aruba and now has a motorcycle, what will he have to get after this!!!!:confused3

My DH and I did the Segway tour at Epcot for DH's 40th Birthday and he promptly announced he HAD to have a Segway :rotfl:

If you enjoy it, you should consider the Segway tour at Fort Wilderness - loads more Segway time and they use the off-road version. You get to see some really good stuff and it's not quite as tame as the Epcot one :thumbsup2

Darn it. I was hoping that the new tour would be a good one. We've done the World showcase tour before. Is the new one not as good primarily because you're not on the Segway as much? Are you on the Segway during the portions where you are in Living Seas and the Land?

I also thought the Fort Wilderness Segway tour was better than Epcot, but it WAS cool to be in the World Showcase before everyone else. And being on the Segways going through the crowds to get back to the Innovations building was fun, too. Lots of people pointing and saying "I want to do that"!

We love the Segways so much that we did a Segway tour of Anchorage last summer (very cool, but they were the older Segway model and much harder to use). Next month, we are doing the Segway tour on our CA trip to Disneyland. It is in the California Adventure park.

A friend of ours did the California one and said it was really cool.

We are seriously considering doing the Nassau Segway tour on our DCL cruise in October.

Nassau didn't have a Segway tour when we last did a DCL cruise there but I would have signed up for it if they had.

We're also doing one at the Wild Life park in San Diego next month. It's an off the road one like at Wilderness Lodge. Yes, we love Segways!

DD and myself did the California Adventure Tour in March. It was a lot of fun!! Enjoy!

My husband and son did the Around the World at Epcot tour in March. We just told them we were DVC members when we made the reservations, and we were good. They said to bring the blue card, but they didn't ask to see it.

That is exactly the reason. If you have not taken the one at Fort wilderness it is a lot more time on the Segway. Highly reccommend that one. And it cost less.
