Epcot Reusable Bag

I love the bags and will probably get one from each park this summer. Just one question. We have our stuff sent back to the room. They always staple the bag shut. How will they handle that now? Don’t want staples all in my bag.

That's what they're counting on! Don't get me wrong, you get to buy and love whatever you want, obviously, but they hope you love all of them, in all sizes, from every venue. I'd love to know, also, how they're handling the resort deliveries. They'll be charging for that soon, no doubt.

I wonder how they are going to handle the items that guests purchase and ship back to their resort. They are always secured in a plastic bag and stapled shut.
That will stay as is for now.

From the article linked by @yulilin3 :

“If you’re having merchandise delivered to your Disney Resort hotel from the parks, plastic bags will still be used.”

Nickel and diming!!!!

Haha with that said...I don’t have any trips planned anytime soon so I’m sending money with a friend to pick me up all the shopping bags next month. Lol

I really do love the bags! I just don’t love being forced to buy them.

Also, that type of bag isn’t easy to carry around and handle on rides and such. I won’t use it on park. I bring my fold up bags in my pocket and use those which are easy to stash down by my feet or in whatever hole I can shove them in where needed.

They cost more but look at these things! Disney sells them in Japan. Why not here? Bring them here! Lucky there’s eBay because I own a bunch.

Did people miss that they'll still offer the normal plastic bags? In the UK you pay 10p per bag and have done for years.

That's a very reasonable price. I like it!
I agree. As long as the price remains reasonable, I think it's a good idea. Most places have them for about $1 or so.

I love those! I have one similar to that but not a Disney bag.

Because people don't want to spend $23 for a bag to put their stuff in?

I totally understand the environmental thing. I've been bringing my own bags to the supermarket for years now. I just have to remember to bring along a couple of bags when we go in the parks from now on because there's no way I'm paying $1 for a bag every time I buy something. I'll shove one or two plastic store bags in my pocket since those take up a lot less space than the reusable bags I use for groceries.

You can just buy one and then reuse that one at all the parks instead of bringing your own from home if you want! :)

I understand not wanting to buy a new bag each time you buy something. My plan (if I don't ship to resort) is to buy what I want at the end of the day. Even if I want to shop at a few different stores, I only need to buy one bag and fill it up!
But I also want to get a bag from each park, so I'll have to do more shopping than I normally would next trip...not a problem...

We always do a Publix run the day we arrive (we stay offsite) so we always have the plastic bags from there. No biggie to shove a couple in my pocket each morning before we head into the parks just in case we need them.

Disney store s already doing this. I kind of like it. It is not like you are buying so much that you need multiple bags at a time.

Speak for yourself . . . . I *might* have, on occasion, bought so much stuff as to require multiple bags :)

As with so many other things, I can see both sides of this. On one hand, it kind of stinks that you are buying Disney merchandise, and then have to pay for the bag too. On the other hand, the bags are pretty cool looking, and fairly inexpensive, plus, getting rid of those nasty plastic bags is great for the environment.

I would say there is a 100% chance that I will be bringing some of those home from Disney this August.

Disney does still offer shipping to resorts, front of the park and shipping home.

If I were to buy a lot especially now I would use that option. No way am I lugging several bags around all day plastic or reusable.

Me either my friend. First off, I have no interest in having my hands full of bags all day. Second, I have no interest in sitting my stuff down somewhere, and then forgetting it, which is pretty much a guarantee. I either have it shipped to the front of the park, or, if I have a locker that day, I may opt to take it to the locker, but no way I carry my stuff around.

However, multiple bags, well . . . . typically I am good for somewhere around $80 in tea at Twinings, which represents two bags right there, and that happens pretty well on every trip. Then, there is the day that we shop for T shirts for the whole family. That generally winds up being at least two bags full of stuff as well.

I'm curious how this works on sending bags back to the resort. On our trip in September we sent bags back daily so we didn't have to carry them around. They had to staple the bags shut ( and many times it had at least 3 or 4 staples in the bag ). I'd be kind of put out if I had to pay for a bag only to have it ruined.
