Epcot Reusable Bag

I'm curious how this works on sending bags back to the resort. On our trip in September we sent bags back daily so we didn't have to carry them around. They had to staple the bags shut ( and many times it had at least 3 or 4 staples in the bag ). I'd be kind of put out if I had to pay for a bag only to have it ruined.
It’s been noted in this thread a few times that goods are placed in plastic bags and shipped to the resort. Perhaps they’ll use the clear bags that they use for umbrellas or for guests who ask for a bag.

They are still using plastic for that.

I'm going in April and hope they will have the bags in all 4 parks as I would like to get them.
Just wondering, what do you think they will do at the hotels when you buy stuff?

The hotels have reusable bags as well.

At least if you buy something at a hotel and you're staying there, you can run it back to your room. Obviously, that doesn't work if you're just visiting or resort hopping.

It's been 9 years since I've been there but don't they have resort delivery if you're staying on property?

It doesn't bother me that they're doing this as long as they keep their price low on the bags. $1 isn't bad for a reusable bag.

I have enough of them already, however. I'm glad the OP posted this so that I can make sure and bring my own.

Me, too. I have a bunch of them that I've gotten as swag over the years. No need to buy another. My main problem with the reusable bags is remembering them! I try to use them always but forget about half the time.

I guess it could also be another use for the bandanna I always bring- now it's not just for drying off after rain or KRR, or having a place to sit on grass- I can make it into a bag as well. :-)

Between visitors forgetting the bag or just not knowing about it, this is going to be an extra couple bucks for Disney on probably 8 out of 10 purchases. A stroke of financial genius, I must say.

I will believe that the move is about the environment when their cast members do.

Friday night, I got cold and bought a sweat jacket. I put it on at the rack, waled up to the register wearing the jacket and ripped the price tag off for the Cm to scan. He rang me up and then asked me if I would like a bag (and not the reusable kind). A bag for what? I was wearing the jacket already.

Obviously he wasn't thinking about environmental impact.

Or he is so used to asking if someone would like a bag that he automatically asked.

Honestly, I was looking for something like this on my December trip, but NOWHERE to be found (bought the $5.99 square bags for my groceries).

They are nice looking but yes, this is nickel and diming. All my life the bag to carry things in that you purchase is part of the purchase. I get the recycling and reuse which is good. I remember when bags were paper from Disney. Sorry, but I just want the price built in - and with Disney prices it's been built in many times over. How perfect for a business when it is able to use "good for the environment" to justify passing more cost to the consumer and more savings for them. We'll see but I may be stubborn about this and if I walk up and am required to buy a bag the sale will need to be refunded. I really don't need any more souvenirs anyway so win for me I guess.

I agree with this. In my teenage years I worked at a movie theater and we always had to offer a super combo meal. You get yourself in a rhythm of asking people if they want it that you don’t realize you offer it after they’ve already ordered it right from the start.
