1. can someone recommend a restaurant of two within epcot that is worth while ( see epcot list below) I have eaten at the mexican place where they have the donald duck boat ride ( not sure of the name) and the garden grill...

2.also, how does the food and wine festival work? are there like food vendors/carts everywhere? I haven't a clue!

The F&W festival is a lot of fun. There are food booths set up around WS representing a variety of countries. There are food tasting (ranging from $3 to $8) and drinks (alcoholic and non). It's fun to have a "meal" of the tastings. There are also culinary demonstrations, seminars, and other big ticket events. Allears.net has a lot of good info:

Regarding where to eat, it depends on a few things:
1. Are you looking for lunch or dinner recommendations?
2. Who is in your party?
3. What types of food do you like?

the wife likes tasting all kinds of food...lucnh. dinner doesnt matter...

so it sounds like we can get full just by tasting foods while we walk along...I wonder if they I can redeem points for food from the disney dining plan at these booths you mention?

Historically, Disney has allowed snack credits to be used to pay for the food tastings (except any items with alcohol in it). Disney has never announced this beforehand, so the Dis community doesn't know for sure until the first pictures come in of the sign boards (usually a few days or so before the festival starts).

With regards to the restaurants in WS many are very yummy. My favorite for lunch is Le Cellier (cheddar cheese soup with pretzel bread sticks, filet mignon with mushroom risotto, and chocolate "moose"). For dinner, it's Rose & Crown (scotch egg, Sunday roast or the Cornish game hen - it might not be the menu anymore, and sticky toffee pudding). For either meal (because the menu is the same all day or the item is on both menus) I like Via Napoli (arancini, prosciutto e melon pizza, and "ugly but good" ice cream sundae) and Les Chefs de France (onion soup, braised short ribs, and profiteroles - there is also the possibility of seeing Remy). Previously, I also really liked Tutto Italia's dinner menu (calamari, risotto, and tiramisu) but I haven't been there since the renovation and menu change.

I would go light on the Epcot sit-down reservations, at least for one Epcot day, until you see what you think of the Food & Wine offerings. We don't make TS reservations at Epcot during F&W anymore. The one time we did, we weren't hungry and we felt like we were missing out on more fun offerings throughout the park.

HOWEVER, it seems like LE Ceiler...is always booked and I found a reservation for 4 pm on sun oct 21..so I thought the stars had aligned for me...

however I see your point...I may have a full stomach by the time we make it there!!! popcorn::

If you're on the dining plan...Le Cellier switches to dinner at 4:00 (which is why the reservation was available), so it will cost you 2 table service credits per person for "signature" dinner at Le Cellier. Not sure I'd spend 2 credits for one meal at Le Cellier on a day you'll be snacking around the World Showcase.
