Hi everyone - any good suggestions (besides Le Cellier or the Italian place) in Epcot? Is Teppyanki good or San Angel Inn? There will be 4 adults and 1 child (20 months).

My favorite place on the whole Walt Disney World property is San Angel Inn. The theme is wonderful (wait for a table by the water) and the food I've always enjoyed. For vegetarians, they have a seperate menu you can ask for and the children's menu is varied. Btw, the margaritas are a good buy...they knock you off ur seat! :thumbsup2

Another one of our favorites is Marrakesh. The belly dancer is entertaining and the food, service, and quality have always been 100%. It is now my boyfriend and I's "special restaurant" when we go.

My third suggestion is Rose & Crown Pub. Ask for a table outside and you may be able to catch Illumations on the lagoon. I once was a big big fan of the cottage pie (I am vegetarian now, so you know it's good if I am telling you about it!) and the fish and chips.

A place that gets mixed reviews but I've always liked is Chefs de France. I've been to Paris many times and it is very similar to a few restaurants I went to. They have a nice selection of dishes and even a few vegetarian ones. The onion soup and lobster bisque are yummy!! They have a pre set menu you can choose for lunch and dinner that are a bargain.

Don't forget to stop by the bakery in France for a lil somethin' sweet.

Hope this helps a bit!

All of the Epcot restaurants are pretty good for what they try to do, which is present somewhat authentic cuisine from the country which they represent. None of the restaurants are terribly fancy (except Bistro de Paris). You will find numerous people on this board that will recommend and/or warn against each of the Epcot restaurants. Thus, your best bet is to pick a restaurant whose menu looks appealing to you and give it a shot.

Epcot is a great place to eat! San Angel Inn is one of my favorites! Along with the two you mentioned. Biergarten is a great buffet with fun entertainment. Marrakesh is good but I'd recommend the counter service in that country to enjoy one of the other restaurants for dinner. I've never personally been too excited about the Japanese restaurant as we have so many of them locally. I've yet to eat at Rose & Crown or Chefs de France so no comment here. Yet, they are on my "to do list".

I love love LOVE Teppenyaki! The food is very good quality and its a fun experience. However I haven't been there the last 2 visits due to me developing a seafood allergy. They did cook my food completely separate one time for me, but I'm still nervous about the flying shrimp tails. If I knew for sure that no one at the shared table would be eating seafood I'd eat there again in a heartbeat.

I'm just worried about it, I don't think they would "poison" me on purpose :)

Thank you all for your suggestions and comments!!!

I'm going to look closer at San Angel Inn....and maybe Marrekesh (I'll need to check that menu out). That's so true about their being a lot of Japanese restaurants the same style as Teppyanki...oh, but the food is always yummy and the experience fun...and something for my little girl to watch while waiting.

Ames - I'm sure they wouldn't "poison" you on purpose...but I TOTALLY understand your worry...my grandpa developed an allergy YEARS and YEARS ago...and it's surprising how many places mix seafood and regular food.

DH and I also love San Angel. Many people do not though.... The ambiance is always great fun. We are trying LeCellier on our trip in May. Hopefully it will live up to all the hype! Have a great time.

We're trying San Angel this time for lunch. My dad's not crazy about mexican food so I told him we'd make it a lunch thing. I haven't tried Teppenyaki but Chefs de France was amazing. I was expecting the stereotypical snooty French service and expensive dishes with hardly any food. I was SO wrong! The food is pricey but the service was amazing and we all were impressed with the portion sizes. I ate some kind of beef steak and it was huge! I also got the cheese sampler for an appetizer (we were on the Candlelight Processional meal package which includes appetizer, entree, and dessert) and it was pretty good and interesting to try different cheeses (the blue cheese is VERY strong, but has an interesting flavor). The only place I would never eat at again (after trying 3 times) is Rose and Crown.

We love the Tempura restaurant and also Marrakesh.

I like Rose and Crown. We ate there earlier this month and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

Chefs de France is my favorite WS restaurant. We've always had excellent service and good food. Le Cellier was nice also.

We make Teppanyaki every trip along with Coral Reef. Chefs De France is a new try we made and loved it as well.

Another vote for Marrakesh :sunny:
We ate there last week, what a surprise, I always forget it's even there.
I will be eating there again, and that apple pancake thing they have for desert is my new favorite.

Chefs de France is always a good bet. We have eaten there three times and everytime the food and service has been great. We love eating in the greenhouse and watching the WDW world go by.

Tepanyacki was fun, the food was OK, but it was not anything that we can not get from 2 or 3 of our local restaurants.

With regards to Marakesh... We had one wonderful experience back in 2002 and one absolutely horrible experience 12/05. Everything that made this restaurant the highlight of our 2002 trip was completely turned around in 2005. Last December the food was dried out and overcooked, the server was rude, when he was around and the entertainment lasted no more than 5 minutes. We will not be returning there.

MICKEEP, that was basically my experience at Marakesh. However, I can't say mine was horrible. We had just eaten a few nights before in Tampa in a similar restaurant and the food there was outstanding. At Marakesh, is was good but nothing great. Our server was always nowhere to be found. Also, the entertainment was a 5 minute presentation. Don't blink or you'll miss it! Really, I think I got literally one photo! I don't think I would eat there again. I would do the counter service as I love that type of food! I would save dinner for something I know I would enjoy more!

We've eaten at the Italian plan every time we've gone. While it gets mixed reviews, we love it. The calamari is cooked perfectly.

We ate at Chefs de France the last time we were there. I've read some bad reviews of this place and remain mystified by them. I was very impressed. We are going back there in September.

We also ate at San Angel the last time. The margaritas are fantastic. I also liked the food. But a couple in our party weren't crazy about it, so we won't be returning on the next trip.

In September, we are doing Alfredo's, Chefs de France, and Le Cellier. We considered the Rose and Crown, but have opted to eat at Raglan Road at Downtown Disney.

Not very fancy but we loved Garden Grill when we went a few years back. Haven't tried many of the others so can't comment but can say that Garden Grill was an all around good experience.

I love the experience of the Epcot world dining. I absolutely adore Rose & Crown and San Angel. If San Angel was a local restaurant without the whole atmosphere I'd probably think it was just okay. But as it is in Epcot, LOVE it!

I was not thrilled with the Italian place but what stands out is how crowded and cramped it was, not the memory of the food. Its been years but no draw to try again. I remember it being overly priced but not sure if I'd feel that way again.

What I like about San Angel is the feeling you get while there, like you are in a totally different world. I ride the ride, shop at the shops and sip some margarittas. By that time, the food just hits the spot. Its so relaxing and serene with the water in the background.

Oh great, now I've got the craving to be there.

Its a shame, Marrakesh was the dining highlight of our 2002 trip and we were so looking forward to our return.
