Are there any restaurants in Epcot with the Illuminations view? If not whats a good restaurant with full service and good food, for my boyfriend and I, in Epcot. We were thinking about Coral Reef but we like Japapnese food too.:confused3

The only two full service restaurants with illuminations views that come to mind are Rose & Crown (UK) and Bistro de Paris (France.) Both would have to have luck in getting seated either outdoors or by a window to catch a view of illuminations during dinner.

The other TS restaurant that has a view of Illuminations is La Hacienda. But only a few of the tables are right at the windows, and you can't request to be seated at them.

As for Coral Reef: I seriously do NOT recommend this restaurant. Just about any of the TS places in WS will give you a better meal. If you like Japanese food, especially Sushi or tempura, then I think you might like Tokyo Dining. There are a few tables by the window, but they only give you a partial view of Illuminations. However, if you have finished dining there before the show starts, you can get a decent view from the outside balconey.

1) Illuminations restaurant viewing (rev 5/6/2011)
. . . Rose & Crown - Excellent Patio View
. . . La Hacienda - Excellent Window View
. . . Tokyo Dining - Good Window view, Good Patio View
. . . Chef de France - Obstructed Window View
. . . Bistro de Paris - Partially Obstructed Window View
. . . Liberty Inn - Obstructed Patio View
2) Wishes restaurant viewing
. . . California Grille - Excellent table view, excellent balcony views
. . . Narcoossee's - Good view from only a few tables, good balcony view
. . . Ohana - Good view from very few tables

NOTE: Tables at restaurants with views are highly prized.
. . . you may ask for a able with a view at the podium
. . . but, must take ANY seat when your ADR is ready
. . . whether there is a fireworks view or not

We had a 7:35 ADR at Rose & Crown to watch 9pm Illuminations. They were incredibly busy at this time and we weren't sat until about 8:15. We waited a good 20 mins to just check in to the ADR also. We were seated on the upper patio, and when Illuminations came on most of the higher fireworks were blocked by the awning. We also kind of had to duck down to see the show. They did invite us to move anywhere so we could see better but we were still eating. Next time, I'll eat where I want and then just grab a spot for Illuminations somewhere around the lagoon.

If you decide on Rose & Crown, make your reservations for around 7:15-7:30, have a relaxed dinner, and then you can ask to be taken to their private patio. This way, you don't have to obsess over getting "a good table" and you can still eat a relaxed meal and also not have to worry about finding a seat.

It's worked for us before.

My wife got us reservations at the rose and crown prior to illuminations and it was great. We had a nice dinner and watched the show from the table...it was a nice birthday present for me. I would suggest making reservations early though, depending on when you go....we did this in early March, and the parks were very quiet.
