Epcot resorts jogging distances

I appologize-I know this has been asked before, but "search" is being very uncooperative with me. How far is it around the Epcot resorts loop for jogging? And does anyone know how far it would be from, say, Atlantic Dance, down to MGM and back? DS wants to keep up his jogging next week (also his trumpet practicing-hope he doesn't wake up any nappers but these music students...)

Several years ago I measured many distances around WDW and posted them on the boards. Unfortunately I don't have the link in my favorites group on my laptop and those old posts are archived so I can't search.

However, my best recollection is that the loop around the Epcot resorts lake was real close to 0.8 miles. I think I remember that from the MGM gate to the back entrance to the BWV's was 0.55 miles, and that to the front entrance (going thru the pool area) was 0.65 miles.

So just guessing I would extrapolate that from MGM's gate to Atlantic Dance would be very close to 0.7 miles one way. (Note that I took measurements before 9/11, and before the security check was implemented, and measured right to the MGM entrances. The distance to the security check points would obviously be slightly shorter)

Hello Simba's Mom

My spouse and I were at the world 3 weeks ago, doing long training runs for the 1/2 marathon (9 days and counting! woo hoo). The weather in Mass is truly the pits this time of year and it's hard to get long outdoor runs without endangering your life from cars or ice, thus our quick trip to the Boardwalk. We have the following route measured by gps:

One lap around Crescent Lake, not right on the inside or outside, staying toward the middle is about 0.83 miles.

From the bridge between Atlantic Dance/Jellyrolls and the Swan/Dolphin, down the walking path to the boat landing at MGM and back is about 1.50 miles.

So a loop around the lake, then down the path to MGM, tap the corner of the railing at the boat landing, and back to the starting point is 2.33 miles.

It is a very lovely run, the scenery changing all the time, plus there are water fountains when necessary with a quick detour into the pool areas.
