Well it looks like DH and I *may* be going to WDW in early December for the Jellyrolls meet :) It'd be just for 3 nights, over a weekend. The main reason for going would be the meet, and also to see and explore an area of WDW that neither of us have EVER seen before. Believe it or not, we've never been to any of the Epcot resorts, or to the Boardwalk or Boardwalk area, at all!

So now, I'd like to know which resort to stay at. It'll just be the 2 of us (I think! As of now, it's just us, but might decide to bring DSs), and we'll be spending our time at the Boardwalk, maybe Downtown Disney, and probably a stop in at the Magic Kingdom and MGM. Probably no AK this trip either.

Which resort is most centrally located there in the Epcot area?? If any of you have your pictures from any of these resorts, please share, I'd love to see them. Thanks!! :)

Early December has become a favorite time to visit due to the holiday decorations and lower crowds at the parks. You might not have to decide which one you want, as your choices might be slim. I would check availiblity first then ask for opinions.

The Swan and Dolphin are located in between the Boardwalk and the Yacht and Beach. The Yacht Club is our favorite.

My vote is for the Boardwalk based on the theming and room decor. My son loves the Beach Club because he likes to slide on the pirate ship pirate:

Boardwalk Villas or Boardwalk Inn, trust me you're going to fall in love. You know I love the Wilderness Lodge I even own at VWL, after one visit at BWV I knew I was in trouble so I bought at BWV. Now we split our stays between the two. I never truly enjoyed EPCOT very much until we stayed at this EPCOT Resort.

My vote is with the Boardwalk, with Beach Club a close 2nd. You can get an awesome standard view at the Boardwalk. Some rooms feature a view of the fireworks from Illuminations. I know you love the Poly concierge. Why not try the Boardwalk concierge out for size? :sunny:

We just got back from the Boardwalk Inn and we LOVED it!! Its only about a 5 minute walk to Epcot. We will be definately going there again next time.

I have pictures to share but I apparently don't have enough posts to show pictures. How many posts do you have to do have to post pictures??

I have stayed at all of the resorts you mentioned several times. If it is just two adults I would stay at the BW Inn. Second choice would be the Yacht Club. I love all of these hotels but BW Inn is the smallest and most intimate of the Disney deluxe resorts and in the middle of it all. You can't go wrong with any of these resorts so have fun picking. :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Wow, overwhelmingly, the Boardwalk is getting the votes! :) Thanks for voting, to those who voted so far :)

It's funny, but I used to think that the Boardwalk Inn would be the last (deluxe) resort I'd ever try because I grew up spending my summers at the Jersey Shore where the real boardwalks started, and then bought a house just a few minutes away from there, as an adult. And I thought, Why go to a re-creation of the real thing?LOL

Now, from a purely theming point of view, I still would choose the Boardwalk last, but for this particular trip, where I am taking mostly the location into account, I am leaning very strongly towards the Boardwalk. And you know, I'll probably end up loving it :flower:

P.S. Sammie, as of now, all 3 of the Epcot resorts have availability, but I will keep on checking, in case one of them fills up. Thanks for the tip about how busy they get that time of year! :) And by the way, if I was choosing purely on theme, the Yacht Club would be the one I'd choose :boat:

I LOVED the Boardwalk! So far, it is my favorite resort. I'm trying Beach Club out this winter. I hope I like it as much as the BWI.

My wife refuses to stay anywhere but the Boardwalk. We have tried all of the deluxes except BC.

Ok I was just playing around on the Disney site again, and now NONE of these resorts are showing as being available for our dates. LOL What the heck! LOL Before I posted this I checked, and all 3 were available. I tried to call but they are closed for the night, so I'll have to call back in the morning. Sammie was right, maybe I won't be staying at ANY of the Epcot resorts after all! :confused3

We've stayed at the Beach Club and the BoardWalk Villas. I really love the BoardWalk! I'm sure you'd love any of them, but for me I'd have to go for the BW!

It is one of the best times to go, the resorts are just so beautiful. The Boardwalk resort and Yacht and Beach both do special displays in chocolate in the lobby. Regardless of which you chose be sure to tour the others, the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge to see the lobby decorations.

The reason I like the Yacht Club so much is I love to sit on the balcony and see the BW across the water and Epcot to the left. While we liked staying at the BW alot, I did not enjoy the view as much as I did at the Yacht Club.

I'm partial to the Swan and Dolphin, but I've never stayed at the other Epcot Resorts. I'll be back at the Swan 3 weeks from tomorrow! :)

I'm with Nancy, I'm Very Partial to the Swan & Dolphin myself. I did love my stay at the Beach Club, but I have to say, I have found the S/D superior in service & the amenities that I look for lately. Not only that, but there are usually very good deals to be had there.

The Dolphin Lobby is very impressive at Christmas time with a HUGE poinsettia tree with a Christmas Train going around it.

You might want to give it a try. Once I did, I'm having trouble staying anywhere else tho, just a warning that might happen to you too. ;)

We've stayed at the YC/BC resort and it was nice but I LOVE BWI. It is small, beautifully decorated and so much fun. The nicest CM's in all of WDW seem to work here too. Only 6 more days till I check back in there!:dancer:

Hi Seaspray

I'm going to the Jellyrolls meet too (first WDW solo trip). I booked two nights at the Dolphin. I have never stayed there before so can't offer an opinion. I was doing the same as you. Looking for somewhere so I wouldn't have to drive after the meet and D/S was the least expensive :goodvibes .

I think the Beach Club is the nicest - its location is great and the atmosphere is so classy.

Swan or Dolphin--I agree. Can't beat the comfy beds and the fact that these hotels have multiple hot tubs! Plus they do have great rate deals!
