Epcot Resort Questions

Here's a question for all you Epcot Resort experts!!

You can take a boat or walk to Epcot from the Beach/Yahat club and Swan/Dolphin??

How long is the walk??

And are the boats just crazy crowded after Illuminations/Epcot closes??

The walk to epcot from the BW, BC & YC is ridiculously close. I wouldn't even bother waiting for the boat unless you have serious mobility issues. You enter Epcot through the World showcase, in between France and England. It takes all of 10 minutes at a leisurely walk.

Yes you can take the boat from all of those resorts.

We did not find the boats to be terrible after Illuminations but it was crowded.

The walk from Beach club is the shortest. A little longer from YC and quite a bit longer to Dolphin/Swan.

the BC is so close. you can walk to the IG faster than you can to the boat dock. It is silly to take the boat back from Epcot if you are going to the BC.

bw - since it is the first stop, sometimes I have taken the boat.

yc - just depends upon how I feel.

D/S - they are far enough away that I just might take the boat.

The walk from the Swan to Epcot is a little less than 10 minutes by going across the Boardwalk. It is a fun, easy walk. We always walk there. Sometimes we take the boat back from Epcot because the kids think it's fun.

A Disser did the GPS thing a couple years back and I saved his data -

Start in front of BW

to Archway at Swan/Dolphin - 0.15 miles

to Beach/YC dock - 0.35 miles

to Epcot path - 0.56 miles

from Epcot path back to BW - 0.79 miles

so the entire circuit is 0.79 miles

Luna Pool at BW to MGM entrance - 0.66 miles

Walk from BC or YC to EPCOT IG - between 4 and 8 minutes (once outside the main buildings).
Walk from Swan/Dolphin to EPCOT IG - between 10 and 15 minutes (once outside the main buildings).

The boats are crowded, but tend to regulate themselves well. When people see the boat line being full, many just opt to walk back to their resort instead of waiting in the line.

the walk to epcot is one of the reasons dh won't stay anywhere else but the epcot resorts! it took us about 5 minutes to walk to the world showcase and about 15 to walk to mgm. its really easy to get hooked on the resorts there, because is so much to see and do and yet with the lake in the center of the resorts its very relaxing too! have a great trip!

One thing that hasn't been mentioned and why the walk from either of these places is quicker than taking the boats. The route of the boats. Going to Epcot (the boats will originate at MGM), the first stop is the Swan/Dolphin. Then the Yacht/Beach Club. The the Boardwalk. Then to Epcot. If you are in a hurry, walking is best. If you don't mind the extra stop(s), then take the boat.
