Epcot questions: Strategies and how bad is Mission Space?

We too loved Mission Space the first few years, then I started having worsening problems with motion sickness even though I kept my head in one position and eyes straight ahead focused on the screen, and we had to give up the Orange side. We rode Green once, found it too boring, and haven't ridden since then.

I haven't done orange in years. I loooooooooved the ride when I was in my 20s. But now, if we do it, we do green. It's no longer a must do for me.

I actually used to like Green just as well when it was the same story, but the new Green Team story is kinda lame.

As others have said, the most important thing in orange is NOT to look to the side, but concentrate on the monitor. The feeling being pressed in the seat is intense and gives a good impression of a real space mission, I think. But once was enough for me.

Regarding single rider I also agree that single rider at Remy and Test track are very useful. We did Test track twice, while standby was announced as about 30 min, and it was practically a walk on for single rider. And we still got into the same car, just not side by side, but one in the front, the other in the back. Similar with Remy; it was not walk on, but just a few minutes wait, and again same car.

We may have a day at Epcot on January 3, and I have a few questions. In the past decade, we've just park hopped there once during extra evening hours.

I have always skipped Mission Space, but most of my Epcot visits were before I conquered my fear of intense rides. So...how bad is Mission Space really? How does it compare to other Disney or Universal rides? I don't like my head jarred around, but I don't get motion sickness.

We want a relaxing day without rope dropping or hour+ lines, but don't want to splurge on LLPP. I will get a LLSP for Cosmic Rewind because it's the best ride ever. If we get LLMP and book Test Track for our top tier plus Soarin and Mission Space, do we have a realistic chance to add any after using the first? Thrill data shows no availability for any Epcot LL today or tomorrow? This is a holiday weekend, but Jan 3 is still winter break.

We're adults and we have zero interest in Frozen, but I loved Remy. Does it always have single rider and is that a good option? I love single rider at Universal, but it's usefulness varies. I would think not many use it on Remy?
There is an easy answer for how to enjoy Mission Space without the disorienting nausea. Just do the "Green" less intense version. I learned the hard way that there is nothing "better" about the "Orange" version at all. Being exposed to what astronauts feel during their training is simply not a pleasant experience at all. Unless you want to feel your head is being squeezed to death lol. And guess, what? The green version is the same fun, interactive ride and exciting and cool without the headache.

Mission Space is a hard pass for everyone in my family now. My teen and tween who have no issues when any intense rides hated it and my teen said it made her sick the rest of the day and she loves spinning rides.

They did the Orange while I did the Green. . .of course like with many Disney rides we experienced technical difficulties. As PPs mentioned it's pretty claustrophobic as it is so imagine being stuck on it for an extra 10 minutes with no announcements on what was happening.

Of course I was a single rider so the only person in my pod! I was freaked out and thought they forgot about me and I was going to be stuck all day.

Is the Green version still the "sightseeing trip" around earth? Or is it the trip to Mars that the Orange side experiences? Take off, sleep, wake up, guide the ship to crash into a snowdrift on the edge of a very deep canyon?

The one time we rode Green, it was not at all the same story as the Orange side, and it was boring, so we've never ridden it since. But that was years ago, and if Green is the same story as Orange, we might try it again.

It's been a few years since I've done it. But each time I did it we definitely went to Mars. I remember being excited. I didn't know they changed it.

Hmm, I think we'll try Green again on our next trip! It would be nice if they did change it to be the same story, just without the spinning.
