EPCOT Parade

I just got back from BCV. When I was there, I found out that they had cancelled the EPCOT parade. I was disappointed. When we first saw the parade we hated it. Then we saw it two years later and I watched my DS (6) as he watched the parade. I watched it through his eyes and loved it. I even purchased the CD.

With all that said. Does anybody know if they are bringing back the parade at EPCOT or something like it?

They are working on a parade for Epcot but it's still a ways off. They aren't going to bring back ToN/ToD again, this will be a whole new parade.

The "Tapestry of Nations" parade was originally for the "100 Years Of Disney" celebration and was held over by popular demand as "Tapestry of Dreams." I think it was eliminated in March of this year, possibly due to a decline in attendance.

WDW has a reputation for doing things up big, so I'm sure whatever they come up with as a replacement will be worth the wait.

George G is correct that the parade was originally Tapestry of Nations. However, I believe it was developed as part of the Millineum celebration. Then, when they started the 100 Years of Disney theme, it was reintroduced as Tapestry of Dreams, with some changes.

We, as a family, fell in love with Tapestry of Nations when we first saw it. We picked up the CD and when we played it at home, my children wanted to dance with us as we did with them at Disney during the parade. They were only 3.5 and 1.5 at the time, too!!!

IMHO, Tapestry of Nations had staying power and could've been a parade that people enjoyed over a number of years, just as guests enjoy seeing SpectroMagic. Tapestry of Dreams, again IMHO, didn't possess the same type of magic and majesty as the original, although my children enjoyed both thoroughly.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new parade and hoping it has the same presence as TON....not the same parade, but the same originality, synergy, and magic!

We loved both versions of the parade and were sad to hear they are gone! They should have keep ToD until the new parade was ready!!!

If you stay in the park about 10 minutes after Illuminations you'll hear them play the music from the parade. All they need now is to break out 2 or 3 puppets and I'd be happy!

Thanks for your comments. I too am suprised that they left a gap in between parades. It seems odd for a park to be paradeless. I immediately thought that the decreased attendance had an impact.

I noticed that they are only doing SpectroMagic on certain nights too.

On a side note. I had heard that they will be opening the new economy resort, over by All Stars (I believe that it is Pop...) later this year. I am suprised with the lower attendance.

We got to see the last show in March. Very Cool.
