Epcot on a Saturday in October

Should we be ok if we stick to Future World on a Saturday? We've been going to Epcot on our departure day for a few years, but not during F&WF. We'll leave the park at 2:30 to catch our flight home.

We are in the same boat. On our departure day (a Saturday) have an 8:00 GG ADR, will RD Soarin and then have a 915 FP for TT, and 1015 for turtle talk.

I'm wondering - are we better off leaving after Turtle Talk and then spend the rest of the day letting the kids run loose in the Boneyard at AK? We need to be back to catch DME at 3pm.

Saturdays during the F&W are the worst. The lines are close to 15+ people deep, there is never any where to stand or enjoy the food. People look like they are on top of each other, it's ridiculous. If you have to go during the weekend, I would recommend a Sunday. It's not as busy, especially if you start off early. By evening though it will get more crowded. If at all possible go during the week.

I think you could hang out in future world just fine (you can always chill at the fountains or in the music you area of the imagination pavilion and hit secondary rides without much trouble even on Saturdays in our experience. Just set your expectations accordingly! I would not switch parks with such a short day if it were me!

If we were planning on trying to hit more than boneyard I'd agree that hopping isn't the best use of time with a short day. But we'll have a full EP day already Friday and are returning that Saturday to take advantage of the PPO GG and Soarin/TT. The Turtle Talk FP will probably get scrapped. I'd figure even if we left EP and got to AK by 11 we'd be in good shape.

My bigger piece of advice is to choose something else for that Turtle Talk FP+ reservation, because that attraction really doesn't warrant one.

Yeah we were debating that. It's penciled in for the day before anyway, so we'll probably just end up cancelling it altogether, maybe see what SDFP available for AK. It's going to end up being a play it by ear kind of day.

What about just going in for dinner (7:30) on a Saturday night at Le Cellier? No rides, no kiosks, just dinner. Bad idea? I've been debating this one as I've never been during F&W.

Thanks for the advice everyone! We will hope for the best with rides, and then if it's just awful in WS, we will just hit the Boardwalk or BC for lunch before heading to HS. I will be prepared to be flexible :daisy:.

I often describe this scene in EPCOT as 'heavy traffic' not a 'standstill'. You will definitely be able to get to Canada and go to dinner. You will not be alone, you will move with the herd, and you will get where you need to go in 1.5x the time it would have taken if the crowds/traffic were moderate.

If dinner there with no other activities/expectations is the desired plan for the night - don't let crowds participating in different activities deter you from passing by to get to dinner (just be prepared for what you might see as you walk at the herds pace on your way there and back at the end of the night!....this is where I would maybe advise enjoying a longer dinner that ends after illuminations when the crowd dissipates and you can walk out in a much calmer way than you walked in!

Give yourself LOTS of time to get to Canada. The crowds will move, but not very fast. And you will feel like you need football pads to get through. It's doable, but you'll have to be patient. And, don't forget, you'll come out of dinner at the height of the crowds before Illuminations.
