So before anyone flames this idea, we are already going. 3 adults to Epcot for New Year's Eve. We're staying at the YC and plan to get to the park when it opens. We have a lunch ressie for Via Napoli.

I was just wondering if there were things that are NOT TO BE MISSED around the New Year? Like I said, Epcot on the 31st, probably DHS on the 30th, and MK on the 29th in the evening (ressies at LTT, I've never eaten there!).

I've never been myself. But I recently spoke with someone who told me each country has their own party going on. Dj's etc. Sounds like a great time!

I'll be there for NYE too. I originally got the wishes dessert party for MK for the midnight fireworks. But the more I read on here, it sounds like Epcot is the place to be.

I'm not a HUGE drinker though. So I cant decide......

Anyway, Epcot sounds amazing for NYE.

On 12/31/99 we did New Years Around The World. Started at Japan at 11:00, China at Noon, Millennium Village at 2:00 for a couple of the Mid-East countries, were having dinner in Akershus when it was New Year in Norway, Could not get anywhere near UK. Were at Mexico for the fireworks and at 1:00am it was New Year in Mexico City.

We have gone two years in a row. Last year they had a few dance parties around world showcase and a huge one by the fountains ( I could have stayed their all night, but DH moved me along)! They also gave away hats and noisemakers, and there was a countdown on the ball... super cool! The NYE fireworks does each country individually with the country's flag colors and then the big finale which is indescribable!! Do get there early though cuz it closed and the wait for Soarin' was 4 and a half hours!! We rode Ellen and the Land, but we went knowing that we were not going to be able to ride much. So basically we waited around all day for the fireworks.. bc they are THAT good!

Chelseas mom, that is the plan, lol. If I ride Ellen, it will be for a lovely long nap. I do love that ride, and once a vacation I ride it and pay attention, but the rest of the time, it's 30 minutes of slow moving, climate controlled glorious sleepy time :)

Thanks everyone for the tips! It sounds like this will be a fun time!
