So I'm casually looking at the aerial maps in my WDW Vacation Planner, and I see something I don't know what it is, as it's not labeled. Between Canada and England is a sidewalk that goes to the rear of these "Lands" and there is a huge long building behind there.

Anyone know what that is?

It is the old Melinium VIllage now the World Showplace.

I sure do miss that place

I believe that building, during the Millenium Celebration, held the Millenium Village http://allearsnet.com/ae/issue009.htm. Several nations not normally represented in World Showcase had exhibits in there. I remember that Israel had a film. I don't remember much else about the exhibits, though .

One night when we were at Epcot a few trips ago there was some sort of party going on in the building. People who were dressed up were coming in through the International Gateway and being guided into that area. So I guess it is also used for special events.

I'm sure that someone else knows more than I do about the history and current use of that building.

When my DW and I were there in January, CM's were escorting people back into that area. I asked one of the Canada CM's and was told that there was a special event back there for the Marathon runners that ran that day.

There are many special events that it is used for. This past May there was an awards ceremony for school age kids and teachers. The Off Kilter show had to be cancelled during that time because they can get a bit loud

I remember walking by that last December. I never knew there was a buiding back there. At that time they were having some type of Teddy Bear show.

I believe some of the Food & Wine Festival events will be held in part of this area of this pavillon, like "Party fo the Senses."
