I always wondered how you went about getting your picture on the sculptures in the front of Epcot but have never been able to find a definite answer.

Does anyone know how much it costs to put your picture up, how long it takes, how you can find yourself, where to go to have this done, etc.??

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! :goodvibes

We did it a few years ago; just wording not photo. It was $25.00; they later sent us a card in the mail with location info.

it's no longer an option, sorry

REALLY?! When did it stop? We were there last year and I wished I would have done it then, but I didn't.

Oh well, no big deal...just a little something extra I would have liked to add to the trip! :)

I think they stopped selling Leave a Legacy about a year ago.

LaL was a rare Disney mistake. I think they expected it to pretty much sell out during the millennium celebration. It didn't and it turned into an eyesore.

Epcot is such a beautiful park with the exception of the entrance area, which is a concrete wasteland. Lets hope they remove LaL and the monoliths and come up with something better.

I agree.. it looks like a graveyard! Personally I think that's why it didn't sell out....People don't want thier photo on a gravestone EARLY!:rotfl:

It ended about a year ago in June. We were able to do ours, as an entire family and I am glad we did. we now go and take our pics pointing to our plaque. I know others make fun of it(the graveyard), but it is nice to think when I am dead and gone(hopefully it will still be there) and if my kids keep the tradition of pics, I will still be in the pics and part of the fun. Just something cool about it.
I also wander and look at some and wonder about the people in the pics...just think they were there, they were somebody...guess I cant explain it well :confused3

I had my hubby's pic and I put on the wall the first few months when they began to offer the chance. That's been quite a few years now and I noticed that last year they stopped taking pics for the wall.

I am not a huge fan of the walls but there is something personally cool about having my pic on the wall there and I always visit the wall each visit and it's neat.

What news or rumors are there about the walls? Will they be taken down? If so, I wonder if I can get my picture off the wall before they do.

We had our picture done when they first started the program. At the time in the literature they gave you about it, they said the pictures would be up for 20 years. So, for those of you who don't like the monoliths, you may have another 11 years before you get your wish that they be removed. Sorry!

I think it's a great idea. I wish we could do it, we made our first trip to DW 2 years ago and they had just stopped doing it. If it's going to be there anyway, they should go ahead and sell the spaces and fill it up.

I'm glad we bought ours before they stopped. We love finding our tiles each trip.

We did it 2 years ago for our DD's and going back this year to see them! And to let them know they have been in WDW ever since we left and will be there when we leave!!

I'm guessing you've never been over to the Rumors and News board. :rolleyes1
I never had been over there so, based on your post, I roamed the rumors board. I didn't find anything related to this thread, but I did find thread after thread posted by people who go through their lives being very angry, apparently.

We did it when it was a "free" option as part of the MYW package in 2004. We do always go and see the picture on every trip to Epcot. It is kind of fun to see it and know it is always there, but I agree the whole area is kind of empty looking.

We did it too when it was an option with the MYW package. I have the thing that tells me where we are and we found the kids faces once, but now I cant find the info. It seems the look up computer is always down when we are there so I haven't been able to look up where we are again.

They actually sent me TWO things with different numbers on them so I wanted to go and find out if they accidentally put two pictures up. I will have to search for my info before we go again next summer.

It's worse than that, IMHO. It looks like the markers that the government is planning to use to warn future generations (who might not speak any language that we know, etc.) about buried nuclear waste. See http://www.ocrwm.doe.gov/factsheets/doeymp0115.shtml ("six-sided cones pointing upwards at varying angles").
