pardon me if this is an extremely ridiculous question but what it the quality of the pearls in the oysters at the japan pavillion? are they fake, real?

The pearls in Epcot are not fake they are cultured. To read about cultured pearls here is a link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearl Also we have done this and the pearls look very nice.

Does every one contain a pearl and it's just a matter of how big and what color, or is it a hit and miss as to if you even get a pearl at all?

I believe that if your oyster does not have a pearl, you can chose another one. They will not let you walk away empty handed after already paying for it.

DW and DD have done this several times and we have watched tons of people and there is always a pearl. I'm sure there is a chance that there is no pearl but I would bet anything you would get to pick another.

You're guaranteed a pearl! I was very impressed with the 7mm I pulled in January!

My son is a jeweler and mounts all the pearls we have gotten. He says they are very good quality, and he has made us some lovely pieces!
