Epcot---is it a MUST DO with a 5 year old and 2 year old

It really depends on the family.

Does your family like a slower pace? Looking closely at things. Learning. Museum-type exhibits. Aquariums (with a ride!). Learning about the world around them. Short films.

My kids were junkies for that kind of thing. We started visiting museums with them when they were still babies. When we visited Washington, the highlight of the trip was the Arboretum. And Epcot's always been their favourite park.

But different families have different tastes, and you know your own kids best.

One thing to keep in mind - if Epcot isn't something YOU enjoy, then your kids probably won't enjoy it, either.

I just went with my toddler. She LOVES the Nemo ride, but honestly doesn't know the difference from it and under the sea ride.

We enjoyed the seas and imagination pavillion. she gets antsy at the country pavilions, but we always make sure to visit Christopher robins room.

Our current plan is that it's the evening of animal kingdom and it will probably stay that way until avatarland. We do it from about 6:30-9:30 or 10. We don't like the headliners at epcot so it's a quick park for us.

I'd say no in that case, it wouldn't be a must do (with older kids it might be, even then depends on what they like). But you could hop there for a bit if you want.
