Does anyone know where I might find a listing of the "samples" that you can purchase at the Food and Wine Festival? I am not really looking for this years menu. (But I would be nice) but just some idea of what kinds of things we would be able to try.

Thanks in advance to anyone with info.

http://www.allearsnet.com had them up last year, but maybe they are not up now?

Ah-ha! I decided that it would be easier if I just went there and verified it for you. Yes, go to allearsnet.com and click on theme parks, then go to Epcot, then special event. Or click on this link http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/ep/foodwine.htm :p

My DH were in Disney last year for it, unplanned, and it was great. We tried some food and lots of drinks. It was really great, I look forward to being there in 2005.

Here is a link to a review from last year of the booths at the F&W festival

Thanks, Baloo! I'm really looking forward to my first Food and Wine Festival this year! :)

I'm also interested in possibly making this my first food and wine festival event. Just a few questions first:

1. We will be there Sept 25-Oct 2 so we will really only be there for 1-2 days of the event. Do you purchase tickets for certain days or is it for a week, how does it work?

2. How much are tickets and how long of a period do they cover?

3. I know I saw somewhere that you can start making reservations on July 20. Is it a requirement to make reservations, or is that only for larger groups?

Thanks for any help you can supply :)

Actually, they are listed on the DIS home page, just scroll down for Epcots Food and Wine Festival. I was just reading it the other day. They have the menus and the prices and a list of who is going to be play there.

I saw all of that listed on the DIS homepage, but is there a general admission for just visiting the different booths or can anyone just walk around and purchase items? Where is this located, is it in World Showcase?

Thanks!

It is just general admission (hopper pass). You don't pay seperate admission for it. You walk around to all the booths and pay for the things you want to try. It only cost a few dollars to sample.

When you go to the page with the DIS forums scroll down to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival they have the menus and the prices of everything.

That's great! Thanks so much for your help. I saw all the menus and signage from last year and it looks neat. I wondered, since there were prices listed for everything if you had to pay an admission price AND pay for the food- seemed silly. I think we'll definitely venture over to that on the first day (Oct 1) since it will be one of our last days.

Thanks again!

The reservations you are reading about are for the reserve dinners, party for the senses, and food and wine pairings. These are additional events that do cost extra and you need ressies for. But you can still purchase from the booths and attend the free seminars just by having admission to Epcot.

I'm very excited about the food festival but since I'm pregnant I can't drink. I was really looking forward to tasting the ice wine from Canada. I'll just have to have my husband drink for both of us and let him decide what bottles come home!

Dwittles,
You can print the demonstration schedule off the disney website, but on Friday, you could attend 1 of 5 culinary demonstrations. They are Roland Mesnier - former While House Pastry Chef
Adrew Ormsby from Tusker in Dallas Texas (maybe try to look him up on the web)
Anette Grecchi-Gray from Jiko's at AKL
Diego Lozano - Diego's Coral Gables, FL
Pascal Oudin - Pascals' on Ponce, Coral Gables
I went to one cooking demonstation last year. they last about 45 minutes, they tell you a little about what they're cooking and the ingredients and then you get samples. If you're into that kinda stuff, it's great fun. While you were doing that DH could go to a free wine tasting if he wanted. You don't sign up, you just have to show up. For popular one's people start lining up way before the scheduled time. I've notice weekends are alot busier than weekdays.
