Hi,

My husband and I are planning a trip to WDW in Feb 06. We would like to stay at one of the resorts by Epcot. We currently have a reservation at the Boardwalk - but I wanted to know what y'all thought about the Yacht and Beach. Personal preferences and why one might be better than the other. It will just be my husband and I, no kids and for 9 nights.

Your opinions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Welcome to the DIS, LauraK!

To be honest, I think you'd be happy at any of those resorts. I've stayed at the Beach Club and the Boardwalk and I love them both. There is a lot more activity at the Boardwalk, with Jellyrolls (a definite must do--tell them Karen from Boston sent you), Atlantic Dance, ESPN Club, the outdoor entertainment, and lots of shops and restaurants.

If you are a pool fan, however, you may enjoy staying at the Yacht & Beach Club to use their fabulous pool.

Or, maybe you'd consider splitting your stay and trying both resorts.

Karen

DH and I have stayed at the Beach Club Villas, and are staying at the Boardwalk Villas for the first time next week!

We love the Epcot resort area, and are excited to be staying at the Boardwalk. The nightly entertainment is great! We found ourselves walking over there many nights when we stayed at the Beach Club! :cool1:

Well, the Boardwalk has more adult type restaurants and nightlife than the Yacht/Beach Club, so that's a factor if it's no kids. But, the Boardwalk is also pretty hustle and bustle, lot of activity going on. If you're looking for someplace quieter you might prefer the Yacht Club. Just depends on what type of resort you're looking for.

Thank you all so much! I think we'll keep our reservation at the Boardwalk!

I feel better now :)

One vote for the Yacht Club!!

We love the pool, the restaurants, and the atmosphere.....

Hi Laura,

Just to reinforce your decision, we have been lucky enough to have stayed at the BWI three times and loved every minute of our stays. The pool is great as is the Pool bar (Leaping Horse Libations). The Bellvue Lounge - just off the lobby - has a continental breakfast in the AM, and is a nice place to relax in the evening.

So much to see and do all around Crescent Lake - you will have a ball!! You should have time to explore all five resorts, and the dining options, including Epcot, are countless.

Have a most magical trip!! Peg and Bob

We LOVE the Boardwalk Inn. We stayed there in February and we are staying again in January. Lovely resort in a beautiful area. Perfect for a couple.

I think you will love it, especially for 9 nights!

I am with the Boardwalk crowd. Without kids you probably won't "do" the pool that much at Beach (2nd favorite) and there is so much to do at the BWV. In fact, we stay there atleast once a year. It has become an expensive ritual but well worth it. Have fun. :earboy2:

We stayed at the Boardwalk in June and it was great. We had a standard room (4278) which overlooked a very attractive and quiet courtyard. We could see the Epcot fireworks right from our bed.
Just a little tip............if you want to stay in your room for breakfast some day (and don't want to pay room service prices) try the Belle Vue room that you pass on your way from the elevator to the main lobby. They have a nice breakfast set up and it's so convenient.
We used them our last few days as we were tired of eating breakfast outside.

I would say BC. I love the themeing there and you have access to SAB, the pool is jsut well amazing. You still have acess to everything at the boardwalk except their pool which isnt as good as SAB. And to get to the BW for nightlife or restaurants its only a 5-10 minute walk!

I have just returned form BWI and loved it, we had a room overlooking the Boardwalk and Crescent Lake. My opinion is why walk to the BW when you can stay there. I also loved the pool(there were many 30+ men and women on the 220 ft slide). Have fun !!

I love the BWI. The quiet pool is beautiful and the gardens lovely.A short walk to the boat if you want to ride. The surrey bikes are fun ,if a bit tiring :teeth: I will be staying there again in 2006.

We stayed at BC last June. When I got home, I called to see if I could change my reservation in Nov.to BW! We own points at BWV and it is my favorite spot in all of WDW. We were not all that impressed with SAB..even dd thought it was just okay. When we were back in WDW two weeks ago, we went to Epcot and then walked to MGM...through BW. DD just sighed and said she didn't want to ever stay anywhere else...that she missed BW. We love it there.

Hi Laura,

We've stayed at Old Key West, All Star, Boardwalk and Beach Club. We prefer OKW over all the others for a number of reasons, however, it is not an EPCOT resort. We are going to WDW in April with other families and we are staying at Boardwalk. I like the room/villas and prefer the Boardwalk over the SAB pool at BC.
