Epcot help!

See I love Illuminations, and was VERY sad there was no globe there when I went in September. I also have never had a problem "seeing" the video, maybe some of you "old" guys need to get your eyes checked...

No you didn't!

I've seen the new globe, and honestly? It wasn't half all that. :confused3

Not that you shouldn't make an effort to see it, but don't go expecting IMAX or something.

Maybe you have to be a "baby" to appreciate it? :confused3

Could be. Could be. :teeth:

Wait. Who's baby? I'm the wife's baby. Does that count? Oh. Not THAT kind of baby, right?

My goodness - so many good things to see/do. I am going to come up with a plan and then post it to get feedback.

Again thanks to you all (well, maybe NOT Wally :lmao:)!

Wally - nobody will riding ANYTHING on this thread - thank you very much!

Possible points aside, a splurge for Yatchsman Steakhouse may be in order in that case. It's a short walk from Epcot, and a MUCH better steakhouse than Le Cellier.

We really had a fabulous meal at Yachtsman in August, and I agree it is MUCH better than Le Cellier. Ricardo was our server and he was just wonderful.. We are going to request him next time. :)

Thanks David - we will look into that.

Does anybody know about the Illumination cruises? Worth the money - is it a waste with only two people?

We did one in 2005. I booked the boat, then we found several other DISers to join us. A family from the UK and a honeymooning couple. The cruise was nice, except when the debris from the fireworks rained down on us. :scared: We agreed we were OK paying for the cruise for just the 3 of us if we had to, but it was really nice to be able to share the cost with other people! We probably wouldn't do it again because it wasn't THAT great.

Has anybody done the Segway tour?

My friends who have done it say it is a blast! DS is only 12 and he weighs 70 pounds on a good day so we haven't been able to do any Segway stuff yet. Minimum age is 16, and I think you have to weigh at least 100 pounds so DS may have a VERY long wait! :rotfl2:

Ageism is a very bad thing! :guilty:

The Segway tour was great! We had a really good time. We want to do the one at FW now. :thumbsup2

Fort Wilderness, not Future World.

Thanks for the quick response. We are going to BOOK the segway tour for 9:30. This will give us a 1/2 hour to ride Soarin' and grab a set of FP's before doing the tour. I love the idea of zooming around WS with nobody there - should be very, very cool.

Tim won't budge on Le Cellier - and I have given up. I make ALL the decisions so I am going to give him this one - lol!

Keep those ideas coming!

If there is a later time you might want to take it - they have you check in 15 minutes early over at guest services so Soarin would be tough...possibly one could run ahead for FPs for later but that would be about it.

Has anybody done the Segway tour?

We did it and it was great! We booked the 7:45 Epcot tour - we tried for a later one but it was booked so we did the earliest one and it was perfect. You do about 1 hour of training inside and then you head out to the WS.

If you can't get the 9:30 tour don't worry - we did the 7:45 and got fastpasses for Soarin' after the tour. It worked out really well since we got breakfast in the foodcourt while we were waiting for our fp time.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much good information from you all!!!!

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anybody done the Segway tour?

You've already gotten responses from others and made a plan, but, when I read this I was going to say that "the Fort Wilderness one looks better to me."

You could always book Le Cellier for lunch and then Yachtsman's for a late dinner if you wanted to really eat lots of meat.

Have a great day!

Le Cellier will be fine. You can do YSH another time. :teeth:

You'll not have enough time to do Soarin'. Do get a FP for it for after your tour.
