Epcot 'golf ball'

Is anyone afraid that since it doesn't have quite the "draw" that it used to (except for us sentimental types), that they will end up replacing it like they have Horizons, World of Motion, etc? I hope not, but afraid that soon the time will come. :(

we had a walk on last trip, but when we got out there was a big line for it. Go figure!

It's DH's second favorite nap spot in Epcot (#1 is American Adventure).
I'll second that! We'll ride that ride many times during our visits, just so we can have twenty minutes or so to cool down and close our eyes - except that it has a clicking vibration, but I've learned to overcome it!

DD4 had us ride SE several times during our trip in June. I'm not exactly sure why she enjoyed it so much - I think she likes being in the "globe" ride. Each time we just walked on.

My DS4 also loved SE. We had to go on it 3 times in a row. It is very relaxing and a great way to get out of the heat for a while.
We were in Epcot last August and there were virtually no lines during the afternoon.

I think SE is to Epcot what TTA is to the MK. I really like both!

My DH also really likes this ride. I'm not sure why he does (slow rides aren't really his thing) but we rode it about threee times on our last trip.

Now, it's usually been a walk on ride, but I'll never forget waiting in line for 45 minutes for this one on NYE 2002 or 03. You should have seen the way the que wound it's way around the building!

I love Spaceship Earth. I really like the sets of the artist and also I love me some Pharoah.

Oh, and I LOVE the smell of Rome burning....

Heres some of my Spaceship Earth pictures....

Nice pics!

BTW folks, it isn't a ball, or a golf ball, etc. It is a geodesic sphere. :cool1:

I love that ride. I always go on it during the middle of the day in Epcot, just when I need a short rest. Perfect relaxing ride.

Same Here, But I Usually Go To It At The End Of The Day, That Way I Can Take a Relaxation Break Before I Head To The Front Gate.

I seriously didn't know there was a ride in there!
i was inside the upper level for a focus group last September, it was offices and whatnot.

I totally agree. These are actually two of my top five favorite rides in both parks. The day they replace Spaceship Earth or TTA is the day we stop going to WDW. We love the classics...some things should not be replaced...ever.

AFAIK, since Siemens has taken over sponsorship they're only going to update parts of the ride/post show areas, and not remove it

when i was a little kid, i just knew that it was a fast roller coaster and folks were lying to me to get me on it. boy was i disappointed the first time i actually did it :-p.

Wow, how could they fit offices up there? When you're on the ride, you know you're at the very top because you can see the curve in the roof of the sphere from all angles, and then the car turns 180 degrees and you go down backwards. Where could they fit offices? :confused3
