That's great to hear. But I can't help but be nervous about the construction of the Soarin' ride.. Food Rocks is rumored to be getting the boot to make room for the queue for the new attraction. If I don't get to see Food Rocks (I know it's not wildly popular, but it makes me laugh till I cry) in January, I will be very sad.

That being said, Soarin' Over California is a very neat ride, so I'm glad it's coming to Epcot

Sorry, Food Rocks folks; they lost me when they ditched the Kitchen Kabaret.

I'm with Dan here - SOC was the best attraction at DCA; it also had (at least to us) a high repeatability factor. I rode it several times in a row, and on multiple days, and it never lost its charm.

Glad it's coming to Epcot!

Although I like Food Rocks... soarin' will be a VERY welcome addition to EPCOT. I ride it a couple times everytime we visit my family in California each year. Awesome ride!

Does anyone know if Food Rocks is closed yet? DD "discovered" this on our last trip and has been talking about it for weeks. She would be very disapointed if she doesn't get to see it in Oct.

what'd'ya mean Epcot for old folks and teachers! I am far from either of those categories, and Epcot is mine and dh's favorite park! To us, it has the most "character"
ofcourse we do LOVE Magic Kingdom also....ofcourse!!

food rocks, It would be sad to see it go!
I would love to see something like soarin' be added to Epcot, just make it all the better!

Soarin' is pretty good. I would have liked to see something different than what is at DCA. But at least it is going in.
The front row seats are the best.

I have never seen Food Rocks! In all the 26 visits to Epcot.

I hadn't heard about this before. What is Soarin' like? Can someone describe it for me and is it a scary scream ride?

AFAIK, Soarin' isn't a thrill ride at all. It's a unique motion simulator using a large IMAX screen as the display (rather than the little screens of Star Tours and Body Wars), which makes it much more immersive. I believe the "ride vehicles" are supposed to simulate hang gliders, so the motion should be rather gentle.

Somebody who has actually been on it before will probably do a much better job at describing it

I always thought Soarin' sounded like a great ride and I am glad it will be added to Epcot. That entire side of Epcot was really needing a bigger ride anyway so I think they picked a good spot. I will be sad to say goodbye to Food Rocks because I really did enjoy it. I hope it is still there in Feb. so DS can see it before it ends.

Wow, this sounds awesome if you ask me! I love attractions like this, I always loved going to the movies and them showing the view from the front seat of the car or the rollercoaster, really cool.
