EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, Sept. 25 - Nov 16 2015

Hi, don't mean to resurrect the Premium Package booking drama again, but wanted to share our experience today. We called to book for our stay Oct 18-26. I obviously know the PP "VIP Areas" are for Mon-Thur. The woman asked what date we wanted the PP for, we said, "Is that the day we want the ISDP?" (knowing from this thread, that yes, that is the date). She said yes. We booked the ISDP for Thursday 10/22. In MDE it shows up as 8:00, not 8:30 as others have posted many pages back. Our seminar is booked and listed for Monday 10/19 5pm. (Although, I'm going to call and try to change that, didn't realize what it was when I booked. For some reason I was confused and thought the 5pm was wine/beverage, not culinary, and would have been happy with any kind of beverage seminar over culinary. I realize my chances of switching that will be hit or miss). We said, "So even though our reservation for the PP is Thursday 10/22, we can still pick up our credentials and such beginning Monday 10/19?" She said, "It will be delivered to your room". I knew this was the case last year, you got the goody back and credentials at check in, but hadn't seen anyone post that info on this thread, and even the WDW site says you pick up your stuff at the Festival Center. We asked the same question in a roundabout way THREE times, and all three times she said it would be delivered to the room. When we hung up, we called back and got a different CM, and basically just said, "There's been confusion about this package since booking began among the internet and CMs, this year and last year" and she agreed. We asked her to review what we have, and when we could pick up our credentials. She ALSO said it would be delivered to the room, but in reading what was included, she also said Late Nights Live, so I have no idea if she was reading last year's info. I don't want everyone to suddenly think the goody bag with credentials will be at resort check in like last year, since the WDW site says pick up at Festival Center, but wanted to share my experience. I'll keep a close eye the next couple weeks to see what people's experiences have been. Everyone who's going before us, have a blast and report back! Thanks

Oh I wish this were true because I don't want to schlep the bags through Epcot back to BCV. I can't wait until people start reporting back on this package: we're going in November so I will have the benefit of reading what actually happens with people going earlier than us. **sigh**

I do hope they figure out a storage situation. I don't think the info about bags being delivered to resort rooms could be correct though as the requirement to stay onsite didn't stick for 2015. We're booked with the premium package and staying offsite this time.

Regarding the illuminations party - mine totally disappeared from MDE for the party of 3 I booked back when the package was released. (That had previously said 8:30). The single package I booked last week under my mom is still showing up with her dessert party, but this time at 8:00. It shows "prepaid" and the full cost of the package. The other three of us have the prepaid and full cost of the package next to the culinary demonstration.

I'm not sure what's going on with this package "talking" to MDE but I'm not too worried - I have a feeling this is going to be a mess anyway so as long as we're all able to get into one of the dessert parties together, I don't really care which one and whether it shows up on MDE correctly.

If the disneyphile research nuts (like us Dis-ers) still have this many questions and inconsistencies, I can only imagine how this is going to go for the general public. Although this was so poorly announced, perhaps the only nuts who've booked it are us?

:rotfl:

I agree. And maybe next year we can start several new threads from the beginning: "Booking Issues for Food and Wine" "Booth reviews" "Special Events" etc or something like that.

Please NO! That means that you will have 20 posts every day during the booking frenzy on the wrong thread or 10 posts of "shouldn't this be on the special events thread" etc.... not to mention that the moderators don't get paid so I don't think we should ask them to try to keep that mess correct.

I think they won't be delivered just because of the new allowance for off site guests to get the package. But if I were Scoobypop, I would have written down the names and told the people at the Festival Center "X said it would be delivered, get it there" LOL

The thing about the times that show with the desert parties is they don't matter anyway. What matters is the date. everyone goes in at the same time and they'll line up well in advance of that time. They don't allow some in at time X and others in at time Y.

Look like there will be a Pandora Charm for the 20th Food and Wine Fest...Epcot Food and Wine Festival Fans posted a pic on their Facebook page :)

It has a Chef Mickey head and 20 in the chefs hat...pretty cute but I can't see if it says anything about Food and Wine.. hope they still have them mid Oct when we go :)

I just think it's so hard to find things in this thread. We're already up to post 2449 and the festival hasn't even started yet! :)

Agree it would be nice if we can start a new thread with photos and reviews of this year's offerings at F&W - really hope that will be possible??

I don't think you are going get them delivered to your room. When you buy something in the park and have it delivered to your resort, it is held in the gift shop. Used to back in the good ole days they would deliver to your room, so fun to walk in your room with all your packages waiting for you. They don't deliver your luggage to your room if you store it with bell services, you have to call down when you get to your room for them to bring it up. Again, back in the good ole days they would but not now. The only things I've had delivered to my room when I was not there were luggage from ME and gifts arranged through the resort.

Our passes expire the 24th with food and wine starting the 25th(terrible luck I know). We do not plan to renew them. In the past they always have a soft opening a day or 2 earlier. Does anyone know if that will happen tomorrow and was anyone in Epcot today and saw the booths up and/or running? Thanks

I'm arrive tomorrow and am hoping for a soft opening also!!! Can't wait!

The booths typically are open on Thursday in the afternoon/evening as a soft opening for cast members. Everything won't be available though or they may run out of things.

As requested by someone last year, I set up a new thread for my reviews of the food booths at this year's festival. In 2014, I was waiting for the rest of my family to move to Florida, so I was visiting almost daily and posting about what I tried. The old thread is here if you're curious: http://www.disboards.com/threads/fourteen-days-of-food-booths-epcot-food-wine-festival-2014.3331979/

Anyone is welcome to come and post their own reviews as well. Here's the link to this year's thread: http://www.disboards.com/threads/food-booth-reviews-epcot-food-wine-festival-2015.3450075/
