EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, Sept. 25 - Nov 16 2015

It is a bit odd, as I recall the World Showplace having events almost every Friday and Saturday. Saturdays were typically Party for the Senses, and Fridays were the 3D Dessert Party some weeks, with other special events on the Fridays that weren't having the 3D party ... like Dining Through the Decades

This year I only see a few 'Burger' parties. So do they have other unannounced Friday plans for the World Showplace? Will the Burger party be offered on more Fridays?

those are the burning questions that we all have

That's what I thought too. For a 20th anniversary it seems kind of "blah". As for the $100 "Burger Party", I would rather spend that money and check out the new Boathouse restaurant at DTD. We will still have a great time with the booths and Party for the Senses but I am a little disappointed in the offerings so far.

With bookings possibly starting next Friday they need to get everything out.

Questions...Questions...Questions

I just saw Robert Irvine is gonna be there Oct 30th! Two days before our first Epcot day of our vacation(we arrive the 31st). My bf will be so bummed! I guess I can't be too mad though, because I would not be able to afford the $129 price tag.

I agree that it seems sort of blah this year. I am upset about the Greek griddle cheese. :( Other than that it seems that a lot of what we liked from last year is back but there isn't too much new stuff to be excited about. For it being the 20th anniversary I was expecting something new. Looking at the booth menus I am wondering if I need to try to make some ADRs.

We will be there on a Saturday this year and hope to book the Parisian breakfast so we are excited about that.

Does anyone recall when the Tables in Wonderland pdf booklet (describing all the F&W experiences) became available last year? I emailed it to myself on July 31 last year but even though I'm a TIW member I never actually got notification from the TIW program (seems to be hit or miss). I think I picked up a copy here on the boards.

Edited to add: Here's a link to what I was talking about http://cdn.media.tablesinwonderland.com/Files/TIW FW Booklet 2014.pdf

I know that tickets are required for the culinary seminars, beverage seminars, and mixology seminars that are given at the Festival Welcome Center (2014 price of $15 per person).

Do these typically sell out well before the event? We would like to attend at least one (or maybe one of each), but planning has been a bit difficult because we are meeting up with several family members and friends during our vacation, so I probably won't know which days we will be "on our own" until it gets much closer to our arrival (in mid-October).

I don't care about seeing any of "celebrity chefs" and would only need 2 tickets for the event. We are staying 9 nights - would it be possible to purchase these tickets just a few days in advance once we get to Disney?

The seminars for really popular and well know chefs sell out quickly. If it is with a Disney chef, there will normally be seating available day of. Some really popular chefs will sell out with just AP/DVC/TIW advanced booking and no general public tickets will be available.

Thanks for the info, Winthropf - I figured the well-know chefs would have a more popular following - did not realize they can sell out that fast! But, I know we would still enjoy ourselves with any of the chefs - have never seen a "live" demo before and know that this is probably our best chance of experiencing one.

I think we'll try to get one set of tickets before we get to Disney for a day early in the trip. We can be somewhat flexible with days/times (once we know what our friends and family will be doing - I hate that none of them are obsessive planners like me!). Then, if we really like it, we can try to attend another one - it would be really great if we are able to get tickets the day of the event.

The musician in me is soooo excited that Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will be playing while we're there!

What is it about musicians and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy? DS is a professional musician in NYC and would LOVE to see them. I wish they were playing when I was there-I just want to see what all the fuss is about! They must be good.

Does anyone see anything about this anywhere other than the Disney Food Blog???
I called 407-939-FEST and they were clueless....I called the passholder hot line and he told me that we cant book anything yet....I just wanted more information on it.

The details for the sampler package isn't the only info that is currently missing from the website. I posted on the DPB asking when they will be posting the rest of the festival details to the website. I'm not holding my breath waiting for a response though. I need the details for this package and the events they are having in France as well as anything else the haven't mentioned yet.

I know how you feel. We love Irvine and we leave on 10/29.

What's the thinking on the Yelloween PFTS? It says " dance the night away". Think that means it will be longer than the other parties and set up differently ( dance floor)?

I've already penned in PFTS and the Parisian Breakfast for 10/17.

I'm contemplating the French Family Traditions on Friday the 16th. Since it's brand new, I have no idea what to expect and whether it'll be great or a bust.

If I make a reservation and I read reviews and they're mediocre (yeah, I know to take reviews with a grain of salt), will I be able to cancel and get my reservation money back or am I stuck?

I wish they would post the chefs that are conducting the culinary seminars, too!

Since I'm TiW and AP, I can make reservations on the 24th so I'm hoping they've fleshed things out more before that date.

So, the way I read the passholder email. I am thinking the early booking on the 24th is ONLY for the culinary demonstrations, mixology and beverage seminars. Not for other events like PFTS, Parisian breakfast, burger bash, what's cooking with events etc. I really hope I'm wrong. I seem to remember the same confusion last year but can't remember how it turned out...

Last year, after a long, long time on hold, we got none of our "early" booking choices. But we got everything when reservations opened to everyone. Booking gets more and more time consuming and frustrating every year.

I still haven't found any information on the culinary seminars. Have they been released yet?
