***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

This will be our first time at the Food and Wine festival! We have the dining plan. What is the best way to tour, and to use our snacks? Should we just use a snack or two then pay the rest out of pocket? I am PSYCHED for the yummy food and even more delicious WINES! :yay:

:welcome:

We have always had the DP - and gone for F&W fest - we always keep cash for "just in case the booths malfunction" but we've never had problems. I love this thread and reviews and allearsnet.com site to help me plan - then when we get there- I dont feel a shock for prices (ie beer - souvenier cups etc)

Our plan for us is to start in Canada, I love the ice wine and the cheese soup - we try and plan to get in line on a weekday to do the Sam Adams tasting in America Pavillion (weekends have huge long lines!)

going thru the brochure helps you decide how many or if you want to do any of the free seminars - I did one last year, and it just wasnt worth the "get in line an hour ahead..." the wine pours were 1/2 ounce, and it was wine I was familiar with - so I've decided not to waste precious time to go to the free events... of course I reserve the right to change my mind!! ;)

Hi everyone! Can someone just tell me where the wonders of Life Pavilion is located?

We are going to Sweet Sundays next Sunday and for some reason in my head I thought the wonders pavilion was in FW but I just realized I actually have no idea of where it is:rotfl:

If you have a difficult time finding a way to use your snack credits normally, then I suggest you use them at the festival kiosks. And keep cash handy because the card readers sometimes crash.

Aimless wandering around World Showcase works. I never thought a plan was necessary for the food kiosk noshing. ;)

I've been trying to find this answer but no one seems to know...

We will be on the Deluxe DP and want to know how many of the F&W items are eligible for snack credits? From what I've seen, it's pretty well everything except the alcoholic beverages. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

That's consistent with past years. Each menu board at the food booths will have a DDP image next to all the items that are eligible as snack credits.

Unfortunately, this link goes to a "page does not exist" :sad1: Does anyone know of an alternate site where I can print out the F&W guide? Thanks!

Scroll down not even 1/4 of the page and under "Related Links" you will see a link on the page for the F&W Guide. It takes a while to download, but its still there on Orlando Sentinel's website. Not sure why the direct link that was posted previously isn't working suddenly, although it worked for me. :confused3

Thank you, that link worked :goodvibes Holy cow, that's a big file - almost 24mb! :scared1: My dh will like knowing what's available - and anything that makes him more likely to enjoy himself at WDW instead of annoying us is a very good thing LOL :cool1:

For everyone who has been waiting Holly posted this on the theme park board. Thank you Holly.

It is the entire festival guide.

Thank you sooooooo much for posting this. I am attending my first F&W fest in October and this will definitely help me plan to get the most out of the event!

I think its funny that they put in bold "Judges were drinking champagne throughout the day" :rotfl2: Is that to say they were a little drunk by the time judging came around! ;)

Thanks for the post kabuki!

That was funny! I just thought "oh that is how Jason and I watch Iron Chef"! :rotfl:

Should we start a separate thread for the reviews/photos of the food booths for the festival? I hate having to go back through all the pages to find the reviews mixed in with questions or comments about the festival. What do ya' think? :confused3

TDC Nala already has a sticky thread on the review boards for just this purpose. :thumbsup2

Is it Wednesday yet ?

Leaving early Wed and should be in Epcot by 1pm. The only formal event we have scheduled is the Wine School with Karen MacNeil on 10/4 (about Napa Valley). Should be interesting - her Wine Bible is probably the single best wine reference I own !

I was reviewing the kiosk wine list that's posted at allearsnet and it's got some pretty decent bottles on there ! The Bodegas Norton Malbec is very good for the price, as are the SA Plum Rieslings and the Marquis de Caeceres Rioja.
