(Cross-posted from parks and stratagies) -

EPCOT has several areas around world showcase that are designated viewing areas for Persons with Disabilities (see the map).

The only thing is, you need a Fast-Pass to access them. No exceptions. That's not well publisized and by the time we learned about it, it was too late to get to the fast-pass.

Fortunately we were able to find a spot that had pretty good visibility.

I'm not sure when the fast-pass for that becomes available and when it closes, but plan ahead if you want to use one of those viewing areas.

Please explain this a little further.

I've been over 40 times and this is the first I've heard of this situation.

Where do you get the fastpass for Illuminations?

This is stressing me out; so, please give details.

It fast pass plus which I think has two locations to pick from and not sure if they doing they yet. Of you listen to the podcast they got to do it with the testing and they said the cms was confused as to which location they should go to as their two. So they might have moved the wheelchair location and made one a fast pass plus location. As one in the middle between the two gate way shops and te other I think they said near the Germany pavilion. But not sure they could move them before they start letting more people pick the figure works as their fast pass plus option.

So, does anyone know where the wheelchairs and scooters can go now correctly for Illuminations? I don't want to be guessing about any of this when we arrive in December.

Thanks for the help.

The information the OP posted is incorrect.

There are Fastpass plus areas for Illuminations; guests wishing to use those need a Fastpass to access the area. This map shows the area currently bring used - #14 on the map below.

I know some guests with disabilities have gotten Fastpasses to use that area, so there may be guests with wheelchairs in the area.

There are also Illuminations viewing areas for guests with disabilities that are totally separate from the Fastpass Plus area. Two of them are near the numbers 13 on the map and might look like they are part of the Fastpass Plus viewing area, but they are not.

The other viewing areas for guests with disabilities are in front of Germany (sort of below the D on the map) and between United Kingdom and Canada (along the water above 12a).

The viewing areas for guests with disabilities are limited availability and can't be reserved (first come, first served). The Germany and UK areas are fairly small and can fill up quite early (like an hour before Illuminations).
The areas by World Showcase Plaza get quite busy and sometimes even have 3 rows of wheelchairs parked in them.

There are many good spots along the water, so many people choose to just park their wheelchair at a spot along the fence.

This is what is printed on the park maps picked up in the past 7 days about the viewing areas for guests with disabilities.

These areas are filled on a first-come, first -served basis. Plan to arrive early, as space is limited.
Viewing spaces cannot be reserved or guaranteed. Parties larger than six may be asked yo separate and reunite afterwards.

So, the same as always.

Good to know - I know WOC here in California requires the FP for everyone, even those wishing to sit in the wheelchair viewing areas. I could not figure out how they would make anything like that work in Epcot, or how they could require it for only those guests with disabilities.
