Epcot f&w beer question...

Mic Ultra is sold at the kiosk somewhere by Moracco I think, it's the same kiosk that sells baklava

I think the reason people mock it (obviously in a lighthearted manner) is because it would analogous to someone saying they're a lover of pasta but only eating Chef Boyardee.

Excellent analogy. I won't ding somebody for drinking Coors Light or eating Chef Boyardee, but neither would I visit Food and Wine and expect to find either.

For the record... beer doesn't have to be "chewy" to be flavorful.

According to Beers and Ears app:
Mic Ultra - Morocco Beer cart
Coors light - Nada

Those are breakfast beers and WS doesn't open until 11am. Go to the other end of the beer spectrum and get a nice cold Guinness. Cheers! :drinking1

And there is the rub, who ever said that anyone was a "lover" of anything. Oh that's right, the beer snobs think everyone who wants a beer must be lover and if you want something that has a light taste ......well then you don't really like beer... Cause only beer snobs know what good beer tastes like:crazy2:.

So it's not a good analogy, its just another instance where a beer snob earns there rep as a snob :rolleyes2.

So far you're the only person who has made this assertion. For someone protesting "snobs," you've been awfully condescending and confrontational.

I'm a beer snob and I actually enjoy Coors light ...

with that being said when I go to F&W, I'm definitely not looking for anything other than the craft beers, my DW on the other hand ... will not drink anything other than Bud Light or similar.

I'm looking forward to the Chocolate Bock again this year!

The chocolate bock is always one of my favorites though I prefer the sweeter chocolate taste of the Sam Adams one from last year to the more robust coffee tinge of the Rogue one offered this year.

Don't forget that there is food, so F&W can still be enjoyed if you aren't drinking! Everyone eats!

Seriously? I made it abundantly clear that I don't find a thing in the world with someone drinking Coors Light. I'm a huge craft beer fan - as well as a homebrewer - and fully believe that people should drink what they like. I feel bad for beer drinkers who refuse to ever taste anything outside of American light lagers, as there is so much more out there... but I would never ding them for drinking Bud/Miller/Coors/etc.

I'm not at all sure why you feel compelled to call names and act condescending towards me.

Also, for the poster who mentioned Guinness as the opposite of a Coors Light... heh. Would you believe that Guinness is actually very light in body - despite that color - and that it has fewer calories than, say, a Bud or Miller? There are much, much heavier beers out there (including some that at F&W).

Guinness used to be my "go to" beer before I really got into craft beer. After nearly a year without one, I was surprised just how light it really is.

There is really only one way to interpret the repeated statements of Coors Light and Ultra being "water" or "can be found in the toilets" (both made in this very thread) and that is that people that prefer those beers don't know what "good" beer tastes like.

Frankly, this attitude no different than if someone on the Resorts thread called out those that stay at Values instead of Deluxe or Mods by saying they should just stay at Motel 6.

The toilet jokes are probably not appropriate to a Disney forum, I'll give you that. The "water" statements are funny to me, but they do have a good root - these beers (intentionally) have very little flavor. Go check the style guidelines for them - American light lagers are supposed to be very light in everything so as to be very drinkable.

And quite honestly, even if someone says something you don't like about a given beer, it's hard to justify calling names and being confrontational about it.

Or, that people are just kidding around.

Or, that people are just kidding around.

This. Beer folks like to joke around. Take it in the spirit it's intended.

There are some obnoxious beer nerds out there (my other frequently visited forum is a homebrewing one), but beer enthusiasts tend to smack them down. Drink what you like.

If it is "just kidding" (JoshuaShaw) or not "confrontational" (t_catt11) or not "bullying" (like it or not, LittleMissMagic, that's basically what you said)... please go over to the Resort section and call out for someone for staying at a value instead of a deluxe. I'm sure no one will mind because it's "just a joke"...

And, no, it is not "just beer". Two people on this thread said "why bother going"? Why go out of your way to plant such a seed that might stop someone from choosing to enjoy Disney?

It's ugly and distasteful.

No, that's not what I said. That's how you interpreted it.
