Epcot Extra hours but not staying deluxe

So I planned out our days and realized afterward that we’ll be at Epcot on a day with extended evening hours but we are NOT staying deluxe, normally we keep our shopping and stuff until after park close to do on our way out of the park, would this still be possible on a night with the deluxe hours or should I switch days? We wouldn’t try to eat or do rides or anything like that obviously but if they check at the shops like the new mouse gears whatever it’s called now I might swap days bc we only have one day in each park on this upcoming trip, thanks in advance for any info!

I attended extended evening hours at MK earlier this month (staying deluxe) and it seemed to me a lot of people stayed in the park to take pictures, shop, etc. As far as I know they only require proof of Deluxe reservation to join a ride queue.

Agree with SheSingsAlong - we've attended a few EEH as deluxe guests and scanning MB is the only way that CM know if you're staying deluxe. No issue if you shop or eat.
