We'll be traveling to Epcot 7/12 and are planning a drinking around the world marathon. We would like to hear about your experiences and/or your favorite drinks from the different countries around world showcase.
We usually do this as part of the food and wine festival, but have not tried many of the specialty drinks from each country. We usually start by filling up with a shot, passion fruit margareta, and a Sol or XX beer in Mexico
Have to stop for a pint from Germany! Ticki Tocki Ticki Tocki Oe Oe Oe..... and a guinness in the UK :drinking1

I do this every year. It may sound a bit lush, but it's one of my favorite things to do in the world.

Here's my usual itinerary:

Mexico: Jalapeño or avocado margarita.

Norway: One year we did a Aquavit shot, regretted that instantly. Since we go in December, we've adopted getting the Viking Coffee.

China: Plum Wine

Germany: the biggest Oktoberfest beer you can buy. :D

Italy: Usually a Bellini or a nice glass of wine from the tasting counter.

America: usually go with the Jack Daniels sushi here. The Sam Adam's Brick Red isn't too bad either.

Morocco: Sangria, of course.

France: again, a nice glass of wine.

Japan: whatever sake takes our fancy at the indoor sake bar. Usually something sweet and not so dry for me.

United Kingdom: I usually hit up the Rose and Crown for a Strongbow Cider.

Canada: Grand Mariner Slushy, no question.

Usually by the time I get to the R&C, in feeling reallll good.

Hahahaha

Hope that helps!

To PP - I'm pretty sure the Grand Marnier Slushie is at the France Pavilion. My drink of choice at Canada Pavilion is the Torontopolitian.

Ahhh thanks for the correction, you're absolutely right.

We do this 1 day every trip, even have t-shirts for the group.

We always start at Mexico and work around clockwise.

Mexico - whichever margarita or cerveza you prefer
Norway - Carlsberg or Viking coffee
China - beer or plum wine
Germany - pilsner or shot of Jager
Italy - Moretti or Bellini
America - Sam Adams
Japan - sake
Morocco - Marrakesh Express or Moroccan beer(very good)
France - Grand Marnier slushy or wine
United Kingdom - black & tan or scotch
Canada - Torontopolitan or Labatt w/souvenier mug

Then it is a short stumble to a good viewing spot for Illuminations.:faint:

I'm going to say the Grey Goose Slushi in France is just amazing!

I also want to note that if you do the wine passport (Germany, Italy & France), beware the wines are so sweet. I'm not a huge fan of sweet wines, I could barely finish them.

It's a slushy, but it's Jim Beam not Jack Daniels:

Frozen Red Stag Lemonade - frozen lemonade made with Jim Beam Bourbon $6.50

I can't believe this is the first I've heard of this drink!! I can't wait to try it!

At least I know my wife and I are not the only lushes! :rotfl2:

Seriously, us and USUALLY friends do this about 1x a month. I actually start in Mexico with a flight of GOOD tequila. I could not start a round of drinking on rotgut.

After that, I usually do a beer in each country EXCEPT for Japan. I always get an Asahi dry and chilled sake. I also opt for a Magners Pear at R&C.

Oh, and I never drink in Morocco. I had one beer there and it tasted horrible. I skip that country.

Here's my usual itinerary:

Mexico: Jalapeño or avocado margarita.

I second that- I get the cucumber and DH gets the jalapeno. This is usually our first stop, especially if I want a margarita flight or a tequila flight. Margarita flight is great if you want to sample but not over-indulge.
Norway: One year we did a Aquavit shot, regretted that instantly. Since we go in December, we've adopted getting the Viking Coffee.

This is not my 2nd stop; we tend to stroll first, letting the margarita kick in and try to drink liquor drinks before switching- we get a Carlsberg here. But, if it is hot outside, we have to put ice in it 'cuz those kegs don't stay cold enough.
China: Plum Wine
This is usually stop 3 or 4 if we are still drinking liquor. If so, we get the Cantaloopy. If not, we get Tsing Tao beer. And usually an eggroll.
Germany: the biggest Oktoberfest beer you can buy. :D
This is DH's favorite. He likes the German beer girls- and who can resist saying "Das Booooot" when getting a souvey mug to drink it out of.
Italy: Usually a Bellini or a nice glass of wine from the tasting counter.
This is a Moretti beer stop or a Peroni. The wine counter is fantastic.
America: usually go with the Jack Daniels sushi here. The Sam Adam's Brick Red isn't too bad either.
I love whiskey and such, but it is definitely time for a Sam Adams for me here.
Morocco: Sangria, of course.
This is tough- I drink the sangria but I try to drink it last or right after the liquor. Ugh. I don't mix well.
France: again, a nice glass of wine.
I love the slushies- Grandma-but depending on how far we stroll, I generally get a 1664. It might be the crud beer of France, but we love it and it is refreshing.
Japan: whatever sake takes our fancy at the indoor sake bar. Usually something sweet and not so dry for me.

This is generally our 2nd stop- gotta do SAKI but I need to eat after this because it burns. And I'll be honest, I usually split it with DH and get a Kirin beer. Unless we are eating a big meal here- then I get the Saki flight. Yum.

United Kingdom: I usually hit up the Rose and Crown for a Strongbow Cider.
If it is hot- a Shandy for me. My DH loves Stella (again, STELLLLLAAAA) and I love a good Guinness when the weather is crisp. But Harp is delicious, too. And if I am still on liquor, a MacCallan 12 year scotch is the way I go. But, this is usually our last stop.
Canada: Grand Mariner Slushy, no question.
I always drink a Moosehead here. Their beer always seems absolutely coldest.
Usually by the time I get to the R&C, in feeling reallll good.

At that point, for me, it is time to really either go back the other way, or to really go back to the room.
Hahahaha

Hope that helps!

I hope that mine helps too- I hijacked someone else's to make it easier! There is also a beer stand at the African drums- even though it is made by AB in the states, I still consider it a country beer. Don't forget that one.

Looking forward to some good drinks! I'll keep checking in for any other recommendations!:thumbsup2

I really liked the Cantaloupe Loopy in China, I highly recommend trying that. You can find it at the Joy of Tea stand.

Jack Daniel's sushi? :crazy2: hehe I know what you meant though lol

This layout is almost identical, literally, to my favorites.
However, Morocco has some AWESOME beer, trying to remember the name of it and as for Mexico, I get AT LEAST 10 margaritas a trip, they're one of my favorite drinks and during a hot trip, frozen margaritas and frozen grey goose limon slushies are amazing
