For our upcoming trip, one of my family members is going on the scuba diving thing in EPCOT starting at 4:30. The rest of my family wants to go and eat at the Coral Reef while he is diving, so I'm wondering if anyone knows the time that you are actually in the tank.

Thanks!

They'll be in the water around 5:15. My son and I just did the dive in October. We were in the water from about 5:15 to 6pm.

It's an incredible dive. We can't wait to do it again in January!

K, thanks very much! I'm glad to hear you had a good time, I can't wait to hear about it from my brother!

If I may make a suggestion. They do a video of the entire dive. If a diver has family members inside the tank, they are offered the chance to be in the video as well. The diver will approach the glass and interact with the family members on the other side. We have a great tape of my dad "shaking" my hand to thank me for the dive (a surprise 70th birthday present). If you made your seating for 5:30 or 5:45, you could do this, then go down to the restaurant for dinner. After the video taping, they have about another 15 minutes of controlled diving and then about 20 minutes free diving with their buddy. Your friend could go back over towards the restaurant and find you in there as well. My dad and stepmother didn't get out of the dive until 7:00 so you would have plenty of time to have dinner.

I made Ad. Ressies for the Coral Reef at 5:10, and we're just planning on getting some appetizers (read: Desserts!) while we watch him dive and stuff. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll be sure to mention that to my brother.

My husband did the dive in August, and really enjoyed it, what was great is that we did not tell our 2 DDs, I was near the tank with them when the divers came in, and they were fascinated just watching them, all of a sudden they were looking and starting saying look this diver looks like Daddy. It really was fun to walk around and watch them dive.

did it before and doing it again. :bounce:  :bounce:

they need to get to the conceirge area at epcot around 4/4:15. it's right inside the gate. people are right that you're in the water ~ 5:15 for 45 minutes. if you're having dinner, you can take video of them from the restaurant. you'll probably want to be very close to the glass to minimize the glare.

i can't wait - i'll wave if you're eating while i'm diving :cool1:

Anyone know when the Living Seas will reopen? My son and I are diving again in January. Will I need to make my wife a ressie at Coral Reef, or can she watch us from inside the attraction area?

I know it will be open when I'm there in mid-December. I don't know the exact date it opens, but I'm positive it will be open in January!

scubamouse, if you don't mind me asking, what day are you diving? My brother is going on the 19th of December.

we're doing the 4:30 dive on the 14th (in the water ~5:15)

Thats cool. I hope you have fun! I wish I could do it, but alas, I have no way of getting my license!

Then look into the Aqua Tours program. Same equipment, just no weight belt, thus no 'diving'.. More like snorkeling, but with a tank. I just did it and LOVED every minute of it.

Definately worth doing!! (no training/license necessary)
