We are looking to do something different in Epcot this year, we always seem to do Rose N Crown in England and then the Biergarten. Anyone have any thoughts on Nine Dragons in China.

What about Marrakesh in Morrocco? Every time I've been there it isn't crowded and the food is really tasty. Although the food is well seasoned, most won't burn your mouth. In fact, I can't remember ever having something too spicy there. The entertainment is fun too. The dancer makes DH blush EVERYTIME. Besides, its something you generally can't get in Anytown, USA.

:wave2:

You know we actually did try that our first year there together, I really liked it but I doubt my kids would enjoy it.

We had dinner at Nine Dragons two weeks ago. We thought the restaurant was beautiful and the food was excellent. We liked it so much DD and I went back a few days later for lunch, which was also excellent. Try the Nine Dragons Fried Rice - superb!

I'm sooo excited, we will try to eat at Le Cellier for New Years Day!!!

I couldn't think of a better way to start the year!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We had dinner at Nine Dragons in June. It was many years ago that we last went there. We thought the food was excellent! They have the regular Chinese food and also a number of different foods. I had some kind of white fish in a wonderful sauce. The fish was HUGE and delicious. We definitely will go back to Nine Dragons again in the future.

We have not eaten at ND yet, but are planning to on our next trip. If you are looking for something different, I would strongly recomend Marrakesh. It is a nice quiet restaurant and the food is not as exotic as you might think.

We ate at Teppenyaki. I believe it's right by the Nine Dragons building. That's the only restaurant we tried there so I can't comment on any others. That was our favorite meal. The chef did really neat tricks while grilling in front of us.

DD16 won't touch Chinese food, but loves Japanese. We've been to WDW lots of times and in Spring 2005 finally tried Teppanyaki. She loved it! It's a very entertaining "show" watching your chef cook your food. Now whenever we travel anywhere, I have to locate a teppan style Japanese place to have dinner!

I have to agree with Teppenyaki. The food was great. Nice waitstaff. Friendly with our children.
The chef put on a a pretty good show. Our local Japanese place is much more elaborate and takes more time, so I wasn't incredibly impressed. But, it wasn't bad. Average in my book.
The food was the best of our entire trip.

I'd agree with this. Our local Japanese places also do a great show and the food is actually a little better. So if you don't have a place like this at home, definitely go, but if you do have a place, it may not be quite up to what you're expecting. But it's still very good.

I was still very happy with the meal. I just couldn't help comparing it to the two places we have in town that do the same thing.

It has been several years since we ate there, but we have eaten at Norway's Akershus.I thought it was quite good, myself.Being that it has been a long while,I can't honestly remember what was on the buffet,(that is how the restaurant is),But I DO know that it was good.At least it was to me.
We have also eaten inside at the Mexico pavilion. At San Angel Inn.(I think that is the name).Again,it was several years ago.Even back then,it was quite expensive, but the food was very good. We've done the Rose and Crown thing also.Loved it as well.

Nine Dragons is in China. Teppenyaki is in Japan.
Not that close...

We did Nine Dragons for lunch this summer, and the dim sum were fantastic! The wait staff were very attentive and we really enjoyed our meal here. That being said, I thought the price for the "regular" Chinese food a little steep. Although the General Tso's chicken was fresh and tasty, the sweet and sour pork was good, it was the same as what we get at home for half the price!

My advice would be to skip the dishes you can get at your local Chinese restaurant, and go for the dim sum - every version we tried was simply delicious, we will definitely go back for that alone!

What about walking over to the Living Seas and trying the Coral Reef?
We find the food to be very good... and the ambiance can't be beat... the restauran't 4th wall is one of the largest aquariums in North America... eat, watch sharks, fish, and even divers...
Very fun and special! :flower:

Can you do the dim-sum thing with the Dinning Plan

Cafe Marakesh was awesome. The kids will love the show. I wasn't too impressed with Tappanyaki, we have a local Japanese SteakHouse that we go to frequently, and we're just not as happy with Tappanyaki, especially since we paid 2x what we normally pay for food that isn't as good.

I think Garden Cafe at the Land Pavillion is the best Character meal we had at the park, I know it wasn't what you asked, but I thought I'd add that.
