Epcot day - rope drop Soarin or Test Track?

We will be at Epcot on 3/11. Since the fast passes are tiered, I grabbed Frozen Ever After for our Tier 1. For the other 2, I grabbed Living with the Land and Nemo (early in the morning....so I could then try to book additional fast passes after my 3 were used up). The only other rides we are really hoping to do are Soarin and Test Track. We plan on arriving at rope drop (from main entrance). Do you think we should rope drop Soarin or Test Track?

Thanks!!

I'll be at Epcot the same day as you! I'm not sure if it helps, but when I was deciding this I went by what I thought I was more likely to be able to snag as a 4th FP. Based on what I read, it seems like it is easier to grab Soarin' as a 4th FP than Test Track, but I'm not sure if that is based on data or just anecdotal. Also, Test Track has a single rider line, so if your group is willing to ride that way, maybe that is the better one not to rope drop.

You'll probably get better info from more experienced DISers but I personally would rope drop Soarin and then try for TT as the 4th fastpass. Soarin's waits in the past have been better than TT. TT's wait in my experience has always been longer and it goes down a lot so you'll at least get an anytime pass to go back.

You could make either one work, although I’d probably do Test Track as it is usually the harder same day FP to get. But if you chose to do Soarin’ at rope drop instead, you could always do the single rider line for TT if you can’t get a FP.

I think soarin lines are always a lot more manageable than test track IMO. I find that the test track que never dips below a 100 minute wait time while soarin (depending on the day) can be 120 mins, or 45.

One more thought, I’d rope drop test track because you’re first fast pass is Frozen and Test track is closer to Frozen than Soarin. and then Soarin is near your second and third fast passes. So it’s a better traffic pattern.

Unfortunately my Frozen FP is at 11:30

Living with the Land 9:20
Nemo 10:20
Frozen 11:30

So originally I was thinking to hit Soarin first, then the other 2 fast passes, then Frozen. Then try to get Test Track for my 4th right after I use Frozen. But now I'm thinking that may not work if they are hard to get. So maybe I head to Test Track first, then see what the wait is for Soarin right after? Rookie mistake...lol

Nope that is exactly what I would do. You have until 1020 to get to Lwtl and I think there's a chance you get on TT and theN Soarin before that.

I would hit TT first, as we have had good luck snagging Soarin FP later in the day, and if I am gong to stand in line I would prefer the Soarin line. I've been in the line for TT when it stretched out of the building.

I would fastpass TT and rope drop Frozen then head to Soarin. The problem with rope dropping TT is it is not always up and running at rope drop. So if it is down and you have a fastpass they will give you an anytime fastpass for It.

we like to go to Test Track at Rope Drop and go to the single rider line. We get on right away while others are designing cars, so we still sit together. We have rode up to 3 times this way back to back before the single rider line builds.
Soarin is pretty easy to get as a 4th+ FP by refreshing.

Normally TT is a harder to get 4th fastpass & crowds build quicker. But if you are willing to do single rider, willing to wait a short time & want to minimize backtracking, start with Soarin’, then do your living with the land FP. You can then do single rider TT. You will probably have about a 20 minute wait, but it does save criss crossing the park.

If you want to gamble on a 4th FP, Soarin’ is more likely than TT. And Soarin’ has lower wait times at closing too, if you plan to be there late & are willing to wait to ride later.

I don't remember, but does Frozen run on Future World hours or World Showcase hours? If it was World Showcase hours, you could in theory do 2 rope drops. Rope drop either TT or Soaring, then head to world showcase and rope drop frozen. But no idea if that would work, we're not rope drop people, so know little about how it works.

Future World hours

Every time I have tried to RD TT, it was down so I would RD Soarin and single rider line TT or try for 4th FP

I’d say test track for sure for all the reasons above but mostly because it’s the much better attraction. Ever since they changed the Soarin movie it’s more like Snorin to me.
