Epcot changes coming?

How true, and even if they did have, it would change every 6 months, the central African countries are too much in a state of flux for anything to be based on them (mores the pity)

There are a few fairly stable and successful African countries that could be used, but no one's heard of them. (Mainly because they ARE stable) Countries like Cameroon. But instead we hear Sudan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, etc...

I fully realize that European countries are well represented, however a small part of me would love to see a Switzerland pavilion. Perhaps a Matterhorn or Jungfrau type ride, something for the UN and a chalet type fondue restaurant.

Of course I would also love to see a Spain and a Greece Pavillion too. I think a Greece pavilion would have a wonderful boat ride.

Other countries I would love to see represented are India, Brazil, Argentina and Turkey or possible Jordan.

Again, I doubt anything like this would happen due to the number of European countries already in the showcase.

They could add Egypt and Ancient Mesopotamia. A Nile themed water ride going past some of the big sights would be cool; they could do a dig of some sort; Mediterranean food is always a hit. When we took our kids to Egypt (right before the hostilities broke out), they loved eating kabobs and naan and sticky honey-based desserts.

Yes! Egypt would be a GREAT choice.

My picks would be Greece, Spain or Egypt. They are all architectonically interesting, they have lots of culture, history and tradition, interesting food... If they don't want more European countries, Egypt would be a wonderful idea. Just imagine an Egyptian themed ride.

But as I said before, I think Disney should focus on Future World right now.

Here is the information on EPCOT's ability to expand.

Seriously, how cool would it be to add on at least 3 more countries???

How about:
1. Switzerland/Austria? I'd love to see some Sound of Music going on.
2. Israel? It could be all kosher and filled with hummus, olives, dates...falafel...yum
3. Greece? I mean, Hercules could be involved? Totally one of the last Disney movies on my list but I'm reaching. I'd just love to have Greek restaurants and could you imagine all the beautiful white buildings, baklava, moussaka....omg the food would be insane!

Siberia?

Just kidding, I personally would like to see Australia or India.

My dream
"A Futuristic Indoor Playground"
I mean over the top latest technology kind of stuff.
For kids of all ages.

They already have Mediterranean cuisine-ish at Morocco, so I don't know if Egypt offers much more. And as for Greek food, I have one word: Kouzzina. I think the masses have spoken a collective "no thank you."

My vote is with Brazil. It is very different from Mexico, both culturally, linguistically, and in terms of cuisine. We have nothing from South America in Epcot. And how cool would a Maelstrom-type ride be going down the Amazon, going backwards down Iguazu Falls, and then ending up in Rio?! A girl can dream....

(I realize that none of the places listed above touch each other geographically...)

As long as we're daydreaming, I'll cast my vote for Peru (Emperor's New Groove). With a bar that has scary Yzma concoctions.

I thought at one time that Egypt or Russia would be nice but they are a bit too unstable now. I said Australia and Spain before but I'll throw in India too.

We travel as a pack of 25+ on our trips. The culture and nighttime food/fun of Epcot is hands down the favorite for the mixed age group. World Showcase is doing its job.
The rest of the park gets a C. I think the focus needs to be "hands on" science/ environment/ social well being and community. VOLUNTEERISM.
Generate excitement and plant the seeds in the minds of our future= out children.

I really don't need any need to update WS at all.

Future World basically looks the same as when I was a kid (20+ years ago) and desperately needs help.

I would be devastated if they removed the Universe of Energy or changed it too much - my husband I love that ride.

I'm sure people would complain about the construction while it's going on, but there really isn't much to be excited for with all of the attractions being open now.

I'd like to see energy changed completely, actually. Always my least favorite.

Like many have said before...World Showcase isn't the reason for most of the discontent. Future World is what needs EMERGENCY attention.

I haven't finished reading all the way through yet, but I found this website the other day and it shows where 8 different countries could be added! The site is Yesterland.com.

I think that sounds like a great ride and they could incorporate some downsized version of the British Museum in Cairo with real artifacts on loan. Dr. Indiana Jones could be the tour guide until he runs off or gets abducted a we all go on an adventure!

That would be so fun,
