I'm a bit confused. I saw Carrie Hayward's PJ 2 years ago and fell in love with the whole thing. I literally was talking to every single person I know trying to get them to have that wedding. Fast forward and I am looking at having my own wedding there. Yay!!

My question is can you have an outside photographer at an Epcot ceremony. In the Passporter's book it says that you must use a Disney photographer but I remember Carrie using Roots photography. Has the policy changed since then?

Yes it has changed. You need to use Disney photography for in park locations :thumbsup2

Didn't the roots move to another state anyhow?

I don't think this is new, but you should also consider the fact that you must also provide transportation for an in-park event.

It looks like Root is still in Celebration but also based out of Nashville. Doesn't matter. Their price includes travel.

Very sad that I wouldn't be able to use them. Does anyone know of a specific Disney photographer that uses the same photo journalistic/candid style? My future husband only looks good when not posed.

You're right providing transportation is added $. Frustating but part of the whole experience. The only other place that looks inviting and would hold our guests is the Wedding Pavillion and that has an extra $1000 site fee plus transportation.

One thing you might consider is having part of the event outside the park so you can hire any photographer you want for at least some of the day. For example, if your ceremony were at Sea Breeze Point and reception were at Living Seas, at least you could have the photographer for your getting ready shots, your bridal portraits together, the ceremony, and your family portraits. That way you'd have plenty of candid shots of your groom. Then you could buy Disney's cheapest photo package just for the reception.

Or you could just have a dessert party inside the park, and get outside photography for the reception too.

This is similar to what we are doing. Our ceremony is in Epcot and we're using a Disney photographer (ask for the minimum package - 3 hours I think) and then for our reception in the Napa Room, we're using an outside photographer. We'll also use our outside photographer to take portraits of us as well.

We are doing exactly what Carrie suggested. Our ceremony is at Sea Breeze Point and our reception is at the Living Seas. We are using David and Vicki Arndt for our pre-ceremony and ceremony photos and are contemplating Disney Photography for our Reception and our Dessert Party. The Arndts are awesome. I would definitely recommend having a look at their prices as well.
