When will the packages be available and will we need them in early dec.? We've done the fantasmic dinner package but didn;t really need it in the off season. we're a famly of six and I'm wondering if it's worth the extra $$

the packages are usually available toward the end of summer. we go the same time as you and i would suggest the package. it seems there is always a long line for the performance of those who opted not to do the package. it might just depend on which performance you are attending, the night, etc.:p

A tip for the candlelight proc. dinner package -
The package guarantees you seating at the processional, but does not guarantee you COVERED seating. We learned this the hard way on our honeymoon in December. By the time we were done with our reservation at Teppanyaki, we had about 10 minutes to spare before the performance began - all the covered seating was taken, and it poured rain - buckets - torrents. Which meant plenty of uncovered seating whether you had the dinner package or not! Kind of a bittersweet evening because the dinner was fantastic, and the music was exquisite, but our undies were soaked. Ewwwww! So moral of the story - make sure you leave enough time between your dinner ressie and your performance time!

Last year they reserved alot of the undercover seats for "gold package" holders. Whatever that was. We got there about 30 minutes before and were put in the 2nd section.

There usually isn't a problem getting standby seats weeknights before Christmas, get there 30-45 minutes before. Christmas Eve usually sells out. We usually get the package for 1 night and then go again later in the week with a different narrator and do standby. One thing we did a couple of years ago - the line was really long so we got something to eat and sat at the tables across from the theatre so we could still hear it.

We have done the package in Dec. the last two years and got great seats both times. We aways go to the 2nd seating, that way we have enough time to have dinner before the show. We ate at Rose & Crown both times and really enjoyed ourselves. I would suggest that if you are going to eat before the show give yourselves at least two hours. We love doing the package, we are going to eat at Chef's De France this year for CP Package. I will try to answer any questions you might have.
