Gee I’m sure glad they make the announcement now...
haven’t seen it in awhile but the use to just do it and scare the pants off of anyone left in the park....

I'd say 10:30 is about the latest you can stay in Epcot after close. (a little later than that during the holidays when Illuminations is at 9:30 because of the Candlelight Processional) The only time we were 'escorted' out of World Showcase was in October 2004, the night that there was a total lunar eclipse. I think it peaked at about 10:50pm. The Epcot managers were on their Segways, doing the security sweep of the park. They came up to us, watched the eclipse peak with us and then asked us to leave! They had to radio to International Gateway to let them know to let us and another group of people who were taking pictures of the eclipse out. It was one of the coolest things we've done at WDW!

Would resort busses still be running at 10:30? I always thought they ran an hour after closing. Anyone?

We had a 9:00 dinner at L'Originale Alfredo di Roma on Sunday night, and thanks to DS4 we were the last folks out of the restaurant and verrry slow walkers back to the buses. Anyhow - at about 10:40 we saw the fireball - we were standing about halfway across the bridge back to Future World and from there, you could feel a substantial heat blast from the explosion. Very cool, but I have to admit (not knowing what was going to happen) that it completely freaked our entire party out for a few minutes. Nothing like topping off a day of wandering World Showcase and feeling good about peace and harmony in the world by WATCHING THE EARTH BLOW UP.
