Epcot area resorts question

I have a transportation question regarding the Epcot area resorts.
We have to be at the front of the park for 8:15 am for a class reservation. If we are staying at an Epcot area resort how do we go about this?
I *think* I read that there is no transportation to the front of the park from BWV. Rope drop that day is at 9am so going through International Gateway isn't an option.

I am guessing a cab is the best way to make it there in time?
I have never even been to the Boardwalk let alone stayed there so I am not familiar with this stuff

I'm going to take a shot since it's been a while since your post and no one has answered.

I would think the IG turnstiles would be open. (In fact, I'm about 98% sure they are) You will have to go left at England past Canada and to the front of the park. There is no way I would pay for a cab when I am staying at a walking-distance resort. Then, what's the point?

Also, you have to figure there is a breakfast over in Norway too, so entry must be allowed early--even from the IG.

The International Gateway will be open. But it will take you about 15 mins to walk to the front of Epcot. Are you supposed to be inside the park for that 8:15?? Or is it a case of meeting outside the park at 8:15?? If it's outside the park, I would take a cab.
I know that I had a tour one Dec...we were due to leave from the front of Epoct at 8:00. I was lucky...the park opened early for EMHs that day..otherwise I may have had an issue cutting through the park since the tour didn't actually start inside the park!

When you get to the IG, have your confirmation number with you. Then, if there is any question, you can give it them there. You should be allowed to enter early enough to make it for 8:15.

When we were there in 2009 and stayed at BC, the IG entrance didn't open until 9am. (When the park opened)

Have they changed this?

It is a little confusing.
The meeting spot listed on the confirmation is the flag pole at the front of the park. I'm not even sure where that is to begin with.. I'll need to do some investigating.

Call the tour reservation line, or where ever you made the reservation. The Disney tour info usually states if park admission is necessary. Since you are taking a class, I'd assume you are going in the park. I also think the flagpole is in that front area near the bricks and walls in front of the ball.

Also, when you call, I'd see if they know if IG will be open. Otherwise, I'd try the desk at the BW or even seeing if I could get a guest services line inside Epcot.

Again, that breakfast at Norway starts at least as early as 8 AM. I would be annoyed if I had to take a taxi to the front of the park if I was paying to stay at YC/BC, BW, S/D for the convenience.

Thank you. I will call. I agree, it would be odd to be at a disadvantage for this type of thing when paying specifically for an Epcot resort. There's probably a contingency for this type of thing

We had same situation a few years ago - staying at BWV, had a tour with a meet time well before EPCOT was scheduled to open. Meeting place was outside the main entrance.

We just went to the IG, told the CMs, showed our confirmation and we were allowed to walk through the park to get to the meeting place in front of the park. It was odd to be exiting at the front of the park before it even opened, lol, but that is what we did. It was a good 15 minute walk, too!
