Epcot and HS at Christmastime & EMH

We are planning to go to the last Christmas party on 12/18, then possibly a split day between Epcot and HS on 12/19. What does Epcot to special at Christmas? I have seen something about lights at HS, so what exactly are those as well? I am planning to look it up just don't know where to start. Our first trip was in March of this year and I can't wait to go at Christmastime! However we are on a budget so are only doing the Christmas party 12/18, then a two day park hopper for 12/19 and 12/20. I was thinking of doing Epcot/HS on 12/19 and then MK on 12/20 possibly. Epcot mainly for a few rides and food, but mainly HS for rides and the Christmas lights. I want to make sure not to miss anything! Also, do they have evening EMH during that time? I used EasyWDW to plan my last trip, but I don't see any for that time, so it is just too early so they haven't posted them yet? We will have the park hopper for the first time so I want to take advantage if they have any in the evening.

I would recommend skipping DHS this year and spending a full day at Epcot, most of DHS is currently down for construction and I am sure this will have a significant impact on Holiday festivities. IMHO Epcot is a great park to visit over the holidays, key holiday events at Epcot include Candlelight Processional (Book a Dinner Package for Priority Seating at the Show), Holidays Around the World, and the Illuminations Holiday Edition which is an extended version of Illuminations with additional fireworks and a beautiful holiday-themed grand finale.

I will recommend also that a full day at Epcot is suggested. The holidays around the world can take up most of the afternoon and then you have the candlelight processional. The holiday extra of illuminations is I think the best fireworks. It is so well done and I find peaceful. I would place the holiday version of illuminations as my favorite firework display. My family usually stays at the BW and during most afternoons I can be found strolling around the WS taking in the holidays around the world. You will have a great time.
